Mire Metal Ingots mark a clear step into Windrose’s late game crafting tier – rare, powerful and tied to hazardous Cursed Swamps. You won’t mine them directly: instead, you’ll unlock the Large Smelting Furnace, gather Ancient Scraps from heavily infested swamp deposits and combine them with Quagmire Powder to smelt each ingot. This guide shows the fastest path to unlocking the recipe, how to build the large smelting furnace and smelt mire metal ingots.
Cursed Swamps Biome
You need to progress the main questline to be able to make Mire Metal Ingots to upgrade your camp structures. You can do this by defeating the Foothills Boss – Israel Hands.

Resources Required to Craft Mire Metal Ingot
You mainly need 2 resources to craft the Mire Metal Ingot and they are ancient scrap and quagmire powder. These can only be obtained in the cursed swamps biome.
Obtaining Ancient Scrap
Look for a mining icon on the map in cursed swamp islands which says ancient debris site. Head to the location and you’ll find these ancient debris out in the open, you can mine them using your iron pickaxe because it’s faster. But make sure you carry a good amount of heals because this mining site is filled with plagued enemies that will attack you relentlessly.
Obtaining Quagmire Powder
Coming to plagued enemies, you have to kill them anyway because they drop quagmire powder which is the second resource that you require to make Mire Metal Ingot. Once you’ve both the resources, head back to the camp to get started in making those ingots.
How to Craft Mire Metal Ingots
Before you get started in making the ingots, you first need to build the Large Smelting Furnace to smelt the ingots. You’re going to need iron ingots, clay and hewn stone to build the large smelting furnace.
You can craft Hewn Stones at the workbench, the schematics for the hewn stone unlocks when you reach the cursed swamp biome.
After you’ve built the Large Smelting Furnace, you can get started with smelting Mire Metals Ingots, which is a must have resource to upgrade the station levels.
