In this article, you’ll learn how to get the location for a forgotten crossbow, what route you must take to get to it and what dangers you can expect while you’re traversing.
Forgotten Crossbow Location
After finishing the prologue and reaching Marrows Keep, go ahead and find the merchant there. When you meet him for the first time, he’ll recognize you and give you a treasure map as a gift that points you towards something valuable. This map is specifically for the Forgotten Crossbow sidearm. To claim it, you’ll need to travel to where the map leads, the crossbow is located north of Marrows Keep, close to the Proxima shell.
Path to the Crossbow
Teleport to the Blackridge Pass beacon. From there, backtrack a little bit along the route you came from, cross the nearby bridge and then turn towards the right side. You should be able to spot another bridge that leads downward into a lower area.
Keep following the path forward until the environment opens up into a more spread out area. You’ll run into a group of enemies, you can handle them if you want or bypass them. Look for a small portal like independent doorway tucked on the platform to the left. It will look blocked at first, covered with wooden planks, but you can break the planks by attacking the doorway.
Unlocking the Entrance
The entrance to the tower where the crossbow is hidden is covered by an illusion. To reveal the passage into the tower, you need to pass through the doorway that acts like a trigger. When you go through the doorway, it clears the illusion effect and unlocks the true entrance allowing you to move into the interior and follow the path down to where the Forgotten Crossbow is located.
Navigating through the Tower
After you enter the tower, go ahead and use the elevator to travel down the tower. This takes you into a lower section beneath the structure. From there, follow the path to the second elevator past the room, and take the elevator to travel further down to reach the Flooded Village. This is where the pacing changes, you’ll be under constant enemy attack, you can fight them and clear the area before proceeding but the best approach is to run past them as there are many enemies in this area.
Locked Door
After you arrive in the Flooded Village, head to the right side of the area and move toward a nearby wooden structure. Around that structure, you’ll reach a locked door. The Forgotten Crossbow is positioned just beyond the door.
Key Location
Go down below to the ground level and navigate to the right until you reach a section with broken rooftops. These rooftops act like climbing routes, using them to reach the house at the end of the rooftop. This is where the key is located.
Forgotten Crossbow
After you’ve collected the key, backtrack quickly to the locked door while avoiding enemies along the way and unlock the door using the key. Once it’s open, enter and collect the Forgotten Crossbow. As soon as you pick it up, turn around and look toward the middle of the room, you should be able to see a teleporter. Use the teleporter to reach the tower entrance, skipping the hordes of enemies.
