Zmey the Unbidden is the last boss character in Mortal Shell 2, and if you have no idea what he is capable of doing, he will be very hard for you to defeat. Zmey is a powerful enemy who uses a fire-based attack and a grapple ability. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find Zmey and share some simple tips to help you defeat him.
Zmey The Unbidden Location In Mortal Shell 2

You will find Zmey, the final boss, in the Unfounded Path zone, right after you pass by the Hidden Nave Beacon. To access the zone where your final boss fight will take place, you will need to travel from the beacon to the final boss fight location via an updraft located behind the beacon.
But before proceeding to the fight, you will first need to gather 168 pieces of Ova. Once you have them, head to the Gloom Siphon room in Marrow Keep to unlock the path.
How To Defeat Zmey The Unbidden

Any Shell will work in this battle, but try to use Tiel; his skills will help you avoid the attacks of Zmey and damage him. The primary tactic is to keep as close as possible to the legs of Zmey and stay behind him whenever possible. Just don’t stand too far away, as Zmey can quickly jump back onto you. His grab attack is especially dangerous and can deal a huge amount of damage, so make sure you avoid it.
When the red circle appears around Zmey, run away right away; he is most likely going to perform his next powerful attack. Zmey also uses several fire attacks and can inflict Flame Curse. This curse can make the fight much harder, but there is an item that can reduce or remove its effects. You don’t necessarily need it to win, but it can be useful if you’re struggling.
Stay Behind Zmey

Keep your distance near Zmey’s body and try to fight him from behind. He has multiple attacks where he tries to hit the floor, but since Tiel’s ability is Shadow Dodge, it becomes easier to dodge these attacks. For most of his attacks, you should try to dodge in a diagonal manner towards Zmey, not going back in simple ways. This will make your positioning better, and you will keep yourself behind him.
In case Zmey launches an attack using his fire powers, you can easily dodge through the flames provided that you are near his body. Just keep dodging until the attack ends and don’t try to run from the attack. Staying near his sides also makes it easier to avoid the flames.
Use The Shrike Stone
The Shrike Stone is highly effective for this particular battle. First and foremost, its main benefit lies in the fact that it provides invincibility frames that allow you to avoid being damaged while receiving the strongest hits from Zmey. This is particularly relevant in terms of avoiding his grab attack, which can shatter your Shell should you get grabbed by him. You can also apply this item to yourself in case you find yourself in a tricky situation.
Use Tiel’s Abilities
Tiel is a great choice for this fight because of his Shadow Dodge and critical-hit ability. First of all, he has the Shadow Dodge ability that will allow him to get away from attacks. Secondly, he has the critical hit ability that can deal serious damage. The combination of these two abilities will make it easier for you to approach the enemy without getting any unnecessary damage.
Fight Near The Edge Of The Arena

Fighting against Zmey by staying close to the border of the arena is effective since it may help you handle some of Zmey’s moves easily, and in some cases, Zmey’s moves or attacks lead him to get trapped or exhibit strange behaviours. All in all, this fighting style involves staying behind Zmey, dodging towards him, keeping an eye on the red circle, and using the Shrike Stone whenever in trouble. If you’re using Tiel, make good use of his Shadow Dodge and critical attack to make the fight even easier. With this strategy, Zmey the Unbidden becomes much more manageable.
After you defeat Zmey, a story sequence will play showing the fallen dragon and the extraction of the Ora. The game then confirms that the corruption blocking the recovered Kin from moving forward has been removed.
