The New Camp Tavern sits at the center of the camp’s lake behind the water dam. The tavern acts as a social hub for bandits, farmers and diggers. And to access the tavern you must be any one of them, alternatively you can also pay the tavern guard 100 ores to get inside. This guide will show you how to access the tavern for free by obtaining the digger’s clothes.
Tavern Access
After you exit the new camp’s habitat, you’ll notice the tavern at the center of the lake and if you try to enter the tavern the bandit guarding the tavern will stop you from entering the tavern and you’ll learn that the tavern is accessible for only diggers, farmers and bandits. There’s also an alternate way to pay him 100 ores but it’s too costly early game, besides we can enter the tavern free of cost.
Path to Free Mines
Head left from the tavern and follow the path uphill, take left from the training grounds and follow the narrow path.
Throughout the path you’ll come across scavengers and molerats, don’t take them head on, instead lure them one by one and kill them.
After exiting the cave, you’ll reach a spot with 2 paths, stick to the right path and keep following the path until you reach the Free Mines.
Free Ores
While following the right path, you’ll soon arrive at a small shack. You’ll find loose ore pieces scattered around, make sure to collect them.
Diggers/Scrapers Clothes
Upon reaching the Free Mines, head down the mines and speak to the Npc Swiney. Select the dialog option “I want to join the diggers” and he’ll give you the digger’s clothes and you can start mining ores in Free Mines. You can equip the digger’s clothes from the inventory and it also provides armor stats – 10 against edge damage, 10 against blunt and 5 against fire damage.
Tavern Access
After equipping the digger’s clothes, go back to the tavern and speak with the guard, select the “I am a scraper, I need a drink” dialog option and you can access the tavern now.
