The Warbling Shores Styxia Janus’ Maze in Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 is a tricky puzzle challenge hidden within the Slumbering Palace Corridor. To access it, players must first drain the massive pool, unlocking a secret chamber. Inside, nine unique mazes await, each requiring careful rotation to guide a marble to its goal. This guide covers how to reach the maze and solve every puzzle.
Finding Janus’ Maze
When you first enter the Slumbering Palace Corridor during the Before Their Death mission, you’ll discover that the puzzle room known as Janus’ Maze is sealed off. To reach it, you’ll need to drain the large pool in the area. Start at the Space Anchor and head west toward the Tome of Miracles, where you’ll need to switch the setting to Evernight. Use the lotus leaves to cross over to the other side, activate the Miracle Orbs, then return to the Tome and switch it back to Dawn. Take the elevator behind the Tome up to the second floor, flip it to Evernight again, and cross the bridge. Once across, disable the Miracle Orbs near the spear puzzle, continue west, and activate the Shrine of Prayers.
With that done, teleport back to the Anchor, but this time head north and follow the eastern route. Cross another set of lotus leaves and use the Tome again to shift back to Dawn. Take the elevator up, move across the upper floor, and then ride the next elevator down to the lower level. At the bottom, use Oronyx’s Prayer to rewind the water statue and then strike the nearby Chrono Vessel to freeze time in the area. Clear out the Black Tide that’s blocking the path so you can proceed further.
From here, descend the staircase on the western side, make your way past the eastern doors, and you’ll come to a set of double doors. Behind them lies the hidden Janus’ Maze puzzle room, along with a treasure chest waiting as an extra reward.
Solving the Nine Maze Puzzles
Inside, the puzzle mechanic lets you cycle through nine different mazes with a Maze Scroll Fragment. Each one involves guiding a marble by rotating panels, but they all work differently. Here’s how each plays out:
Puzzle 1
Vol. 1 – Rotate until the marble lines up with the center, pause, and let it drop.
Puzzle 2
Vol. 2 – Position it between the two panels, then time the slide so it goes down the chute.
Puzzle 3
Vol. 3 – Turn the board 90° counter-clockwise, let it fall, then repeat to reach the end.
Puzzle 4
Vol. 4 – Wait for the central piece to move aside—patience gets the marble to its target.
Puzzle 5
Vol. 5 – Use the center turning panel to send it straight into the chute, then rotate to guide it home.
Puzzle 6
Vol. 6 – Panels here don’t behave the same—some rotate on their own, others together. Use this quirk to open a gap at the right moment.
Puzzle 7
Vol. 7 – Treat the moving panels on the right like a lift to move the marble up before sliding it down again.
Puzzle 8
Vol. 8 – Rotate when the panel brushes the left wall, balance the ball until it hits the middle, then let it fall.
Puzzle 9
Vol. 9 – This one’s the trickiest: spin fully, hold while the panel lowers, drop the marble, spin again to shove it left, park it on the right until the next panel drops, then release and send it into the chute.
