Go South to the Double Rock with the Broken Cart – KCD2 Storm Quest

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Storm quest is a tense and tactical mission that comes immediately after Finger of God. Henry, Zizka, and Godwin are held captive and interrogated by Istvan before getting a sign of hope when Katherine, Zizka’s sister, secretly delivers an escape plan. But before they can escape, Henry must acquire the castle keys, salvage essential documents, and reclaim his equipment without getting detected. This walkthrough will guide you through each mission step, from sneaking behind guards to battling Istvan, avoiding the deadly forests, and arriving at the Double Rock with the Broken Cart rendezvous point.

Storm Quest In KCD2

The Storm is a pivotal quest that kicks off right after completing “Finger of God.” Henry, Zizka, and Godwin find themselves being tortured by Istvan, but their ordeal takes a turn when Katherine, Zizka’s sister, secretly visits their cell. She reveals a hidden tunnel leading out of Trosky Castle but warns that Henry must first retrieve the castle keys to unlock the passage. 

Along the way, he must recover essential documents, reclaim his gear, and confront Istvan. Once out of the castle, Henry must locate Mika and instruct him to bring horses while carefully avoiding the patrolling soldiers surrounding the area.

Retrieving the Castle Keys and Sigismund’s Orders

When you regain control of Henry, you will only have a dagger. It’s best to take out guards quietly on your way to the Scribe’s chamber and loot them for better weapons and armor. You can also find useful potions and supplies in the castle’s kitchen and armory. 

However, be mindful of your weight. After retrieving your gear following the confrontation with Istvan, you may need to drop some items to stay light. Agility is key in this mission, so keep your load minimal to move swiftly.

Completing “The Storm” quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 requires players to locate the Castle Keys and Sigismund’s orders in the Scribe’s Chamber. The Castle Keys are essential for unlocking the tunnel gate that leads out of the castle. Once that’s done, players must find Mika and instruct him to bring horses to the rendezvous point. The final challenge is reaching the rendezvous location without alerting patrolling guards.

To begin, you must search the Scribe’s Chamber for the orders once you take control of Henry, head left and go up the staircase to the kitchen, where you will find a Strong Marigold Decoction on a nearby table. This potion gradually restores health. Before proceeding further, take a detour to the room in front of the staircase, where a guard sits on a chair. 

Take him out silently, loot his armor, and enter the armory to gather weapons, potions, arrows, lockpicks, and repair kits. After securing supplies, return to the kitchen and continue upstairs. Take down another guard quietly before moving along the pathway until a cutscene triggers. 

Retrieving the Castle Keys and Sigismund’s Orders

Afterward, sneak past a patrolling guard and continue toward the tower. As you ascend, you’ll find two guards at a table. Wait for one to leave, then eliminate the other. Finally, scour the Scribe’s Chamber, checking every cabinet and shelf near the entrance, only to realize the orders aren’t there.

Next, you will need to confront Istvan. Exit the Scribe’s Chamber and head upward until you reach his chambers. Before engaging, stop by the Alchemy room to collect a bandage and a Painkiller Brew potion. Upon entering Istvan’s room, a cutscene will play, leading to either executing him dishonorably or challenging him to a fair fight. 

While a fair duel might seem honorable, it makes the battle significantly harder due to Henry’s limited gear and resources. A dishonorable kill is safer, as Istvan can easily defeat Henry with just a few hits. Upon defeating him, you will be rewarded with Radzig Kobyla’s Longsword.

With Istvan defeated, he heads upstairs to his chambers to search for the orders. Open a chest in the room to retrieve all confiscated items, including belongings of Henry, Godwin, and Zizka, as well as the Castle Keys. 

Yet, the orders are still absent. Henry will be carrying too much weight at this point, making him slow. In order to remain agile, shed any unwanted items and only retain necessary weapons, armor, and potions so that movement is smooth in the last part of the quest.

Finding the Orders and Escaping the Castle

To find King Sigismund’s orders, retrace your steps back to the maiden, following the same path you took to reach the tower. Once there, enter von Bergow’s chamber and search the chest for the orders. Interestingly, Godwin may arrive and discover the orders himself. After that, speak with him and confirm you have everything needed to proceed. 

Follow Godwin back to the prison area, head through the left-side door, and descend the staircase into the tunnel, where you will regroup with Zizka and Katherine. After some dialogue, return their belongings and equip the torch they give you to navigate the dark passage.

Once outside the castle, head right and climb the hill, continuing straight until you come across Apollonia. It’s a good idea to save it manually at this point. Moving forward, you’ll encounter several downward paths. Stick to the left side, crouch, and stay close to the wall to avoid being spotted by the soldiers on the hill. 

Once you reach the lower ground, you will find Mika tied up at a camp. Wait for the soldier guarding him to walk away, then sneak behind Mika and untie him. He will instruct you to meet the others further south in the woods. Follow Zizka, Katherine, and Godwin through the tunnel until you reach the exit, triggering a cutscene where they will read Sigismund’s orders. Finally, make your way to the abandoned camp to meet Mika.

Go South to the Double Rock with the Broken Cart 

This part of the mission is particularly challenging, as soldiers patrol every inch of the woods. To safely reach the broken cart without alerting anyone, head south until you spot a double rock formation, where a guard stands on the right. Take him out silently, then quickly move downhill. Staying close to the wall going above is risky due to additional lookouts. 

Proceed cautiously until you reach a turn, then hug the left wall and wait for the patrols to move away before continuing forward. Once the path is clear, go straight ahead to the cart. If you reach it undetected, the game will automatically save.

From the cart, follow the path uphill between the rocks until you reach a fork, turn left, and continue south until you spot a guard. Sneak past him and head down the path, avoiding the dense woods by turning right and climbing uphill instead. 

This path avoids most patrols, so reaching the indicated spot on the map is much simpler. As you head to the meet-up point, there is a long, important cutscene that will play, and it shows important story information. Henry, Katherine, and Zizka will depart for Kuttenberg, and this is the end of The Storm quest.
