Cinematic An old pirate map, a cluster of skeletons and a single spot begging to be dug up – Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest sends you straight into Windrose’s first proper treasure hunt. Dig the right patch, face the restless dead and claim a chest worth more than just coin; it’s an early test of your gear, grit and grab bag of survival tricks. In this guide, I’ll show you exactly where to find the treasure map, how to craft a shovel and where to find the Treasure Chest.
Treasure Map Location
Head to the marked location on the map as shown in the above image, you’ll reach a shipwreck – Pirate Remains. You’ll find a chest near the shipwreck.
You’ll find the Treasure Map inside the chest along with a Lantern and a Rapier, which is a good early game sword that holds 100 damage.
Crafting a Shovel
To craft a Shovel, you are going to need 2 resources – which is copper ingot and wood. You can find wood lying around on the ground near the beach and inside the forest or you can chop some trees down by using a stone axe.
Obtaining Copper Ingot
To get the Copper Ingot, you first need to obtain copper ore which then you are going to smelt into copper ingot. Head to the above marked location, you’ll reach a cave. Head inside the cave and mine the copper ores.
Then set up a charcoal kiln and smelting furnace. Use the charcoal kiln to make coal using the wood. Then use the wood and the copper ores to make copper ingots through the smelting furnace. With this you now have the required resources to craft a shovel.
Treasure Chest Location
Then head to the blue marker that is shown in the above image and try to look for 3 skeletons that are spread out.
Then dig up the space between these skeletons as shown in the above image, you’ll find the treasure chest buried in the ground. You can open the chest and claim the rewards.
But you certainly didn’t think it would be that easy right, you’ll be greeted with enemies when you try to open the chest, so dont panic just kill them one by one and make sure to dodge when they throw stones at you. Then open the chest and you can collect 4 Silver Ores and 5 Guinea coins, which is a black market currency in game.
