Father and Son Puzzle
In The Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Father and Son puzzle you will encounter at the end of a side mission. Be sure to meet a character named Gina to unlock the next steps in the quest. The side quest is called A Nun in Trouble. In this quest, Gina asks you to meet her at the Sistine Chapel, which kicks off a journey across the city. You will accompany Gina through the Museum Wing and eventually to the Borgia Tower.
Once you reach the top of the tower, you will need to defeat a Blackshirts goon to rescue Gina’s contact, Giuliana. Doing so will reward you with Giuliana’s Key. Also, keep an eye out for the Venus Figurine, one of the Lost Artifacts of Europe, which is located in the same room.
Now, it is time to use Giuliana’s Key. Go back one floor down in Borgia Tower to the spot where you used your bullwhip to cross the gap. You should spot a locked door there, which you can open with Giuliana’s Key. This leads to a balcony that houses the small headquarters of a secret order.
Gather the Clues
Now, it’s time to gather clues to solve the Father and Son puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. One clue can be found in a drawer – a document containing an Italian poem. Look for the letters I-R-I-A-T-A-S-A, which are circled in the text.
There’s another important document in a drawer: a Polybius Square Diagram. A Polybius Square is a cipher where you figure out the correct value by finding the intersection of the rows and columns. In this case, the square has the numbers 1 to 9 in the center (the values), with letters on the outer edges: T-I-S for the columns and O-R-A for the rows.
Now that we have the clues, we can solve the Father and Son puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Using the information above, you will need to divide the letters from the Italian poem into pairs. Each pair corresponds to a specific numerical value in the Polybius Square Diagram.
- I-R = 5
- I-A = 8
- T-A = 7
- S-A = 3
[This should correspond to the number 9 according to the grid (S-A), but the accepted value is actually 3 (S-O). This could be due to a mistranslation or a bug.]
