The Cursed Swamps hide more than rot and ruined buildings – scattered among the muck are three ancient observatories whose secrets unlock a lucrative side quest. Fate of the Prophets sends you into the Stargazer Tower and two sister observatories to solve simple but easy to miss constellation puzzles, collect the steles’ stories and finish with a tough showdown at a warlord’s death site. Complete the chain for valuable Tumbaga Ingots and a neat mix of exploration, puzzle solving and combat that rewards careful observation as much as raw power.
Starting the Fate of the Prophets Side Quest
Starting the Fate of the Prophets side quest requires you to progress your main questline to the Cursed Swamps biome, which can be done by defeating the Foothills Boss – Israel Hands.
During your main questline progression – Forgotten Relics in the Cursed Swamps, you’ll come across a Stargazer Tower at one of the points of interest on the island.
Note : Every Stargazer Tower you’re going to visit during this side quest is occupied by level 15 enemies, clearing the area will prove hard given their level.
Look for a locked door which has 2 constellation dials to each side of the door. Unlocking the door is very simple, it took me time to figure it out because the solution is kind of hidden in the shadows.
Unlocking the Door
If you shed some light above the dials, you’re going to notice the constellation symbol that you need on the dial. Do this for both the dials and the door will unlock.
Inside, you’re going to find an ancient chest and an Observatory Stele, which on interaction is going to begin the side quest Fate of the Prophets. But before that, you’re going to fight an enemy inside the chamber.
Sister Stargazer Towers
After interacting with the stele, the side quest is going to begin and 2 new locations will be available for you to visit on the same island. These 2 locations are for 2 other Stargazer Towers which you’ve to explore to complete the quest.
The other 2 stargazer towers will have the same door mechanism as the first tower and these towers are also infested with high level enemies. You’re going to find 2 new observatory steles inside each tower that you need to interact with.
After you’ve examined all the steles, you’re going to be redirected to a new location – Warlord’s Death Site.
Chick Chan Mini Boss Fight
When you visit the Warlord’s Death Site, a mini boss fight will initiate with a swamp creature called Chick Chan. He’s a sturdy boss, built like a tank and it’s going to take some time to defeat him because of his tankiness. He has a basic moveset like basic attack and throws stones at you when you get too far from him.
Fate of the Prophets is a quest that won’t be presented to you until you interact with one of the Stargazer Towers. Good Luck with the chick chan boss if you’re fighting him and are underlevel just like me.
