Tired of dropping rare loot because your pack fills up? You don’t need luck – you need a workbench. Running out of inventory is one of the first roadblocks in Windrose. Fortunately, two craftable bags – the Torn Sailcloth Bag and the Sailor Backpack – dramatically increase your carrying capacity once you unlock the right workbench upgrades. In this guide I’ll show you exactly what materials and workbench upgrades you need to craft the Torn Sailcloth Bag and the Sailor Backpack along with smelting Copper Ingots.

    Collecting Resources

One of the beginner items to collect is the Plant Fiber, this can be used to craft fabric, rope and even a prebuilt structure like a house to get started in the early game. You can find them just lying on the beach and plants in the forest area.

    Setting up the Workbench

Workbench, another important aspect of the game. To craft any item in the game, you’re gonna need a workbench. And it’s really easy to craft one, you just need to collect wooden logs that you can also find on the beach or in the forest. You just need 5 wood resources to set up the workbench but not before setting up the bonfire.

    Crafting The Torn Sailcloth Bag

You mainly need two resources to craft the Torn Sailcloth Bag and they are the fabric and rope, which you can craft using Plant Fibers through the workbench. The Torn Sailcloth Bag expands the inventory by 4 slots.

    Crafting The Sailor Backpack

The Sailor Backpack is an upgrade for the Torn Sailcloth Bag. So to craft the sailor backpack, you need the sailcloth bag along with 2 additional resources – rough hide and copper ingot.

    Obtaining Rough Hide

To obtain a rough hide, you’d have to hunt wild boars. You can find them wandering through the forest. You need at least 5 hides to craft the backpack.

    Obtaining Copper Ore

Head to the marked location shown on the map and you’ll come across a cave’s entrance. Head inside the cave and you’ll find the copper ores that you need to mine. You’d need a pickaxe to mine them, so do carry a pickaxe made out of stone.

    Smelting Copper Ingot

To smelt copper into Copper Ingot, you’d need two new structures – a charcoal kiln and a smelting furnace. You need to use a charcoal kiln to make coal out of wood. Then use the coal and copper ores to make copper ingots through the smelting furnace.

You are going to need 3 resources for building these 2 structures – wood, stone and clay. I’ve marked locations of where you can find clay in the above image, you can identify the clay by the reference image given above.

Once you have the required resources, get back to the workbench and you can craft the Sailor Backpack which gives you 8 slots in your inventory.
