In DOOM: The Dark Ages Chapter 5, you have a challenge, the Cat and Mouse Challenge. You are tasked with chasing and destroying three quick-moving Hell Fighter ships with your dragon. It may not be an easy task, but after you destroy all three ships, you’ll pass the challenge and receive 50 Gold reward. Here’s a quick and easy guide on how to locate and kill each ship.
How to Complete the Cat and Mouse Challenge in Chapter 5
For this challenge, you have to pursue and destroy 3 Hell Fighter ships. These are fast enemies so be careful and keep pace with them. It is able to use its afterburners to increase speed and pursue target moving in circles. To destroy Hell Fighters, you must destroy their gun batteries and shield generators first.
Use your dragon, and shoot carefully to eliminate them before they get away. It will take some time, but as soon as you destroy all three, you will complete the challenge and receive your reward of 50 Golds. In Doom: The Dark Ages, gold is a form of currency that can be used to purchase weapon upgrades.
Hell Fighter I
To find the first Hell Fighter ship, you need to start from the beginning of the chapter. Now destroy the five turrets, then go for the Hell Fighter Ship and shoot it down.
Hell Fighter II
The ship will be orbiting the centre of the space. You should notice it flying past below if you hang around close to the first part of the area. Chase it and shoot it down.
Hell Fighter III
The final Hell Fighter, you will find it just north-west of the first hidden landing zone. You will spot a plant-like demon with tentacles on a building, kill it, and it will fly through the building before the ship appears, chase it, and shoot it down.
