All Rare Armor Material Locations

In Monster Hunter Wilds (MHWilds), Materials are items you can use to craft or upgrade weapons, armor, and equipment, or even sell if you need some extra cash. You usually get materials by foraging in the environment or carving monsters after a hunt to collect their parts. The more hunts you go on, the more materials you’ll gather.

Monster Broth

If you’re looking for Monster Broth, you can only get it from insect-type monsters. The High Rank Lala Barina sometimes drops it as a Target Reward, but most of the time, you’ll be hunting smaller monsters like Comapchi and Bulaqchi. You can also get Monster Broth from Optional Quests involving small monsters, but honestly, carving them directly is usually faster.

There’s a catch, though, small monsters have a frustrating tendency to explode when you defeat them, thanks to your oversized weapons. To avoid this, make sure to equip the Entomologist skill. It helps prevent those annoying explosions so you can actually carve them.

But there’s an even better method: hunt Nerscylla and go after its hatchlings. During any Nerscylla hunt, you’ll notice a swarm of these little guys following it around, and there are tons of them. Unlike other small monsters, Nerscylla Hatchlings don’t explode when defeated, so you can go all out without holding back.

Even better? The only item they drop is Monster Broth. So every time you carve a hatchling, you’re guaranteed to get what you came for. Once Nerscylla retreats to its nest, even more hatchlings will appear, it’s like a never-ending supply.

Wyvern Gems

Bird Wyvern Gems come from bird wyverns. In Monster Hunter Wilds, there are only two bird wyverns you need to worry about: Yian Kut-Ku and Gypceros.

  • Yian Kut-Ku can be found in the Scarlet Forest and Iceshard Cliffs.
  • Gypceros shows up in the Windward Plains, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, and the Ruins of Wyveria.

Getting a Bird Wyvern Gem from these monsters isn’t easy, there’s only about a 3 to 5% chance of getting one when you kill, capture, or carve them.

Unfortunately, there are no skills to boost your chances of getting a gem, but using a Lucky Voucher before a hunt can help increase your overall rewards, so if you do manage to get a gem, you might snag a few extras.

You can also get Bird Wyvern Gems as quest rewards for hunts involving Yian Kut-Ku or Gypceros, like:

  • Aberrant Atrocity — Iceshard Cliffs
  • Mysterious Poison — Oilwell Basin

And don’t forget about the “Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo” event quest, it’s another solid way to farm these gems.

Hunter Symbols 3

To get Hunter Symbols 3 in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll need to reach Hunter Rank 41 or higher. We started seeing 7 and 8-star tempered monster quests after completing the “What Lies Ahead” main mission, but this might vary for you.

The tempered monsters you should look out for include:

  • Tempered Uth Duna
  • Tempered Rey Dau
  • Tempered Nu Udra
  • Tempered Gore Magala
  • Tempered Arkveld

If any of these hunts aren’t showing up yet, double-check your Hunter Rank to make sure you’ve unlocked the full monster list. These quests can be pretty rare, so don’t forget to check for SOS requests through Alma’s menu, it’s a good way to catch a hunt you might be missing!
