Firestone Location in MH Wilds
To get Firestones, you need to mine Mining Outcrops in the Oilwell Basin, which is the third region you’ll visit during Chapter 2-1 of the main story. Once you’re there, the best way to farm Firestones is simple just find and interact with every Mining Outcrop you come across. The drop rate is pretty decent, and you’ll usually get a Firestone about every other outcrop.
When you mine an outcrop, you can interact with it three or four times, each giving you a shot at a Firestone. Just keep in mind that you have to physically approach and interact with the outcrop you can’t just ride by on your Seikret and use your Slinger from a distance. Once you discover an outcrop, its location will be permanently marked on your map. The good news is they respawn every fifteen real-world minutes, so you can keep revisiting them to farm more Firestones.
Best Firestone Location
The best spots to find plenty of Mining Outcrops are Area 6 and Area 7 above ground. But if you’re prepared with enough Cold Drinks to handle the volcanic heat, the real jackpot is deeper in the Basin — Area 13, 16, and 17. Not only are there more Outcrops down there, but your chances of finding Firestones are even higher. When you first visit Oilwell Basin, there are a few easy-to-find Mining Outcrops you can hit right away:
- 1 in Area 7
- 1 in Area 8
- 2 in Area 4
There aren’t a ton of them, but the drop rate for Firestones is solid, so you’ve got a good shot at gathering enough with just one loop around the region. Using your Seikret’s auto-run makes getting from spot to spot quick and easy.
