The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time includes Kakariko Village with seven Cuccos placed around the place. Getting them all back to the Cucco Lady would earn you an Empty Bottle. Some chickens are easier to spot than others, and some can be found inside the boxes or behind the fences. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find all seven Cuccos and how to collect your reward.
All 7 Kakariko Village Cucco Chicken Locations
In order to earn the Empty Bottle reward in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you need to locate all seven chickens in Kakariko Village. After you have located all the chickens, bring them to the Cucco Lady to receive a reward.
Cucco #1 Location
The first Cucco will be found in the north portion of the village, in the area of a house that has a ledge. The Cucco will be moving around, so it could be found either in front of the house or behind it. Locate the Cucco and collect it before going to the farmer.
Cucco #2 Location
The second Cucco will be located within a wooden box which is situated just south of the first Cucco’s location. The wooden box will be found near a house. Either cut the wooden box open using your sword or roll into it to get the Cucco. Once it’s out, pick it up and return it to the farmer.
Cucco #3 Location
The third Cucco is roaming about on the trail in the western region of Kakariko Village. Simply follow the path which leads from Kakariko Village back to Hyrule Field, and you’ll see it.
Cucco #4 Location
The fourth Cucco is wandering about the construction site under the wooden scaffolding. Find it by searching the area. You should also search the platform located on top of the wooden scaffolding for a Gold Skulltula.
Cucco #5 Location
This fifth Cucco is resting on the pile of bricks located towards the southern-central area of the town. As it cannot be approached directly, use the Slingshot and shoot a seed into it. It will frighten the Cucco and make it land. Catch it and bring it to the farmer. Don’t keep shooting it, though, or you’ll anger the Cuccos and trigger their attack.
Cucco #6 Location
Another Cucco would be needed to fetch the sixth Cucco, which can be found near a wooden fence. First, the player should find their way to the staircase in front of the windmill and grab another Cucco from the surrounding areas. The player should jump with the Cucco in hand near the fence. With its wings fluttering, the Cucco will enable the player to get over the fence. Next, the Cucco in hand should be thrown back over the fence.
Cucco #7 Location
Climb the ladder mounted on the stone wall close by before moving out of this zone. Here, you will find the last Cucco near the windmill. Take it and give it back to the farmer.
After completing the quest of bringing seven Cuccos, go back to the farmer to talk to her. She will give you an Empty Bottle that is used to carry potions, fairies, and other items.
