This guide will provide you with the information and techniques you need to overcome this formidable dungeon, particularly in defeating Grayeye’s complex mechanics and seeing your team through to victory. Get ready to enter the depths of madness and come out on top.

Chapel of Madness Dungeon in Throne and Liberty

The Chapel of Madness is a max-difficulty dungeon in the Dimensional Circle, the toughest co-op challenge currently available in Throne & Liberty. You need to be at least level 55 to enter.

First Area

At the start of the dungeon, you’ll face a group of cultist mobs on the stairs leading into the building. Prioritize taking down the ones with orange health bars first. There will also be plenty of weaker cultists that join the fight when you engage the main enemies, but they go down quickly with AoE attacks. Once you clear them out, move into the next room for another similar battle, same setup, same strategy. After that, you can jump down into the next area, where the first boss is waiting.

Summoning Ritual Chief Priest

The Summoning Ritual Chief Priest is the first boss you’ll face in the Chapel of Madness in Throne & Liberty.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Basic Attacks: The boss uses its staff to strike the player holding aggro.
  • Stun: It casts a spell that stuns and damages multiple group members for about three seconds. It’s not too dangerous as long as those affected get healed.

Overall, this is a straightforward fight with minimal mechanics, just focus on dealing damage, and you should bring the boss down quickly. Once the boss is defeated, head through the doors and make your way downstairs to the next area

Finding the Final Boss

In the next area, you’ll come across a long staircase with three landings along the way down. Each landing has a group of mobs and a ritual totem.

You can tackle the mobs one pack at a time, or if your group is confident and has strong AoE damage, your tank can pull all the mobs at once, just gather them up, run back to the middle landing, and use the stair corner to stack them for easy DPS.

After defeating each pack, their totem will disappear. Once all three totems are gone, the door to the next room will open. Inside, you’ll find three mobs connected to a sacrificed spirit in the center of the room. Focus on taking out the three mobs first, then finish off the spirit. Once they’re down, head through the next door and glide down to the platform below, the final boss is waiting for you there.

How to Beat Grayeye

  • Type: Demon
  • Passive Ability: Dusk Madness — At night, Grayeye deals more damage but also takes more damage.

Grayeye Key Mechanics

  1. Fear Mechanic
    • Grayeye marks a player with a blue eye.
    • If you’re marked, stop attacking immediately and turn away from your team.
    • The mark creates a cone-shaped area — anyone caught in it will be feared, so make sure you’re facing away to avoid hitting allies.
  2. Spirits Summoning
    • Three spirits will spawn in one of four fixed locations.
    • Kill all three spirits quickly, then stand in the circle that appears.
    • This protects you from Grayeye’s massive AoE attack — failing to do this can wipe the entire team.
  3. Beam Attack
    • Grayeye fires a beam in a straight line, leaving behind a burning AoE that deals damage over time.
    • When his health drops below 50%, he may dash to a player’s location before firing the beam, so stay alert.
  4. Wrath Attack
    • Grayeye charges up a Wrath Attack that hits the entire arena.
    • Use a defensive skill and move to avoid taking heavy damage.
  5. Fury Attack
    • Grayeye prepares a Fury Attack, covering half the arena in a semicircle.
    • Tanks should draw aggro and pull him in the opposite direction of the team so others can continue dealing damage safely.
    • You can block this with a defensive skill if needed.
  6. AoE Attack
    • Grayeye unleashes three consecutive AoE attacks across the arena.
    • Each attack has a safe zone:
      • The first safe zone is close to Grayeye.
      • The second is far away from him.
      • The third safe zone shifts again, so stay alert and move quickly.

Master these mechanics, and you’ll bring Grayeye down without a hitch.

Best Team Setup for Chapel of Madness

Here’s a breakdown of the best team composition and roles for tackling the Chapel of Madness:

Tank

  • Weapons: Greatsword / Sword and Shield
  • Why this combo? The Sword and Shield is crucial for taunting enemies, while the Greatsword adds extra durability.
  • In the Dungeon: The tank’s main job is to pull mobs and hold their attention so the rest of the team can focus on dealing damage.
  • Against Grayeye: The tank needs to grab the boss’s aggro, keeping Grayeye focused on them so the team can safely deal damage.

DPS

  • Weapons: Dagger / Crossbow
  • Why this combo? This setup offers high, steady DPS from a safe distance, making it one of the strongest options right now.
  • In the Dungeon: The DPS players focus on taking down enemies quickly while avoiding damage themselves.
  • Against Grayeye: Their job is to burn the boss’s health down fast and clear the spirits during Grayeye’s mechanics.

Healer

  • Weapons: Wand / Staff
  • Why this combo? This build not only heals the team but also applies debuffs and has emergency defensive skills.
  • In the Dungeon: The healer’s top priority is keeping the team alive — especially the tank — and helping control mobs with combos like Sleep Bomb.
  • Against Grayeye: They need to focus on keeping everyone’s health up through Grayeye’s mechanics, especially during heavy AoE attacks.

With this setup, a solid tank, strong DPS, and a reliable healer, your team will be well-equipped to clear the Chapel of Madness and take down Grayeye.
