The border nail is at the heart of the Tachov/Zhelejov dispute, marking the contested pasture’s territorial boundary. If you choose to seek help from Bailiff Thrush instead of diving headfirst into a turf war, he’ll allow you to read the Troskowitz Chronicle.
This historical record pinpoints the true border location, but since it’s written in Latin, you’ll need a Scribe’s assistance to interpret it. Fortunately, there’s one available at the bailiff’s house. Once deciphered, the general area of the border nail will be marked on your map, covering the entire pasture.
Now, finding the nail itself can be tricky. Instead of searching aimlessly through the grass, head straight to the middle of the pasture and look for the second large oak tree on the left. There are three oak trees along the trail, and the border nail is lodged in the trunk of the middle one, jutting out slightly at eye level. Simply examine the bark carefully, and you will spot it.
How to Use Border Nail
You have three choices regarding the border nail, each with its own outcome. If you leave it where it is, you will receive the Master’s Studies I book as a reward. If you move the nail to the furthest oak tree, giving more pasture to Tachov, you’ll get 50 groschen along with the book. On the other hand, if you shift it to the closest oak tree, favoring Zhelejov, you’ll receive the same rewards, 50 groschen and the book.
Once you’ve made your decision, report back to Bailiff Thrush, who will accompany you to the pasture to settle the dispute between the villages. After the confrontation, speak with the group you supported to receive an additional reward, unless you try to divide the land equally, in which case both sides will be unhappy.
Not choosing the right one in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 may not always pay off, though it may better align with your morals.
