This guide details how to find the treasure of the Vidlak Bandits in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After acquiring a cryptic treasure map from poachers near Vidlak Pond during “The Lackey” quest, players must decipher its misleading clues. The map’s perspective is inverted, and the depicted fallen tree has since collapsed into the water, requiring players to track the treasure’s potential drift downstream. This guide offers walk-through instructions from the location of the underwater chest to its invaluable contents as players finish that treasure hunt for their reward.
Vidlak Bandits Treasure Map Guide

During The Lackey quest, you will obtain a treasure map after defeating and looting the poachers northeast of Vidlak Pond. However, the map only provides rough sketches without clear directions. The more extensive pond section is on the right, while the bandit camp is on the left, meaning the map is flipped upside down.
Remember, head north of Vidlak Pond and move west of the bandit camp where you fought the poachers. Look for a fallen tree at a stream crossing just south of the hunter’s camp where you previously took the gamemaster. When you arrive, you will find that the tree on the map has collapsed into the water, but there’s no treasure in sight – nor any spot to dig. Instead, you must track where the treasure may have drifted downstream.

The fallen tree points south toward Vidlak Pond, so follow the stream into the larger body of water and continue along this path. Be prepared for a walk, as finding the treasure chest takes some searching. The chest is partially submerged, barely visible among the reeds in the northern part of Vidlak Pond, just before the water opens into the larger area.
You will need to wade through the water to reach it, and interacting with it will reveal the Washed-Up Chest point of interest. As expected, the chest is locked, so if you didn’t take a key from the bandit camp, you’d need a high Thievery skill to pick the lock.
Inside, you will find several Groschen, a Golden Crucifix, a silver cup, and a tin plate. The Golden Crucifix is the most valuable item, so be sure to find someone willing to pay a high price. Collecting these rewards completes the treasure hunt, giving you a solid payout in Kingdom Come 2.
Tips

- The treasure chest is submerged and partially hidden in the northern part of Vidlak Pond, where the water expands into a larger area.
- If you didn’t grab the key from the poachers, you would need a high Thievery skill to pick the chest’s lock.
