The Emissary is one of the side quests in Valour Mortis that you can start early in the game but won’t be able to finish until much later. The player has to locate an unusual seal, clear a blocked path, and explore a hazardous zone with poisonous gas. However, for this, the player needs the Shield Transmutation skill. Here’s how to start and complete The Emissary quest in Valor Mortis.
How To Start The Emissary Quest
In order to start The Emissary, go to the Valley of Ashes – Other Side Lantern in Chapter 2. From this point, move left and then go to the destroyed zone. There you will see a broken wagon, and you will have to enter it and obtain a seal from there. With this, you will automatically start the quest.
Once the quest starts, William would say that the place must belong to someone important. However, you won’t be able to complete the quest just yet. You’ll need the Shield Transmutation ability. For that, you need to progress through Chapter 9 and unlock the Shield ability from the University, as some areas in this quest will require it.
How To Clear The Path In The Emissary Quest
Now that you have the seal, head back to The Other Side Lantern and walk ahead to the ladder. After reaching the ladder, climb it up and then turn left to reach the edge. Now search for a red lightbulb and shoot it using your gun. The Nephtoglobin blocking the way will be destroyed. Now that the way is clear, you can leave this place and progress in the main story.
How To Complete The Emissary Quest
Equip Shield Transmutation in order to navigate around the toxic gas. Proceed with this until you get to the end of the tunnel. You will then have to turn to your left, where there will be a body with some pieces of paper lying around. Collect the paper, after which proceed with walking to your left where you will find an area with dead soldiers. In this area, you will be able to see a body in the centre that you can investigate.
However, be prepared for a fight, as interacting with it will remove the Nephtoglobin and reveal a powerful enemy. Defeat the enemy before exploring the area further. Once the fight is over, look for a piece of red fabric nearby and investigate it. This will complete the Emissary quest in Valour Mortis.
