The Sage poses three riddles for the player to solve in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen: the Riddle of the Body, the Riddle of the Soul and the Riddle of the Will. Each riddle has its own objective and may pose a challenge depending on whether the player knows where to go. This guide covers all three Sage riddles, including how to find the required items, defeat the bosses, and complete each challenge.
How to Start the Sage Riddles Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The Sage Riddles are handed over to you by the Sphinx Sage. You will encounter the Sphinx in Norgan as part of the DLC’s new storyline, specifically in the Seeking the Sage quest. While interacting with the Sage, you will be given three riddle options, namely:
- Riddle of the Body.
- Riddle of the Soul.
- Riddle of the Will.
For each riddle, you need to defeat a particular monster and get a special body part to turn it in. If you are stuck on any of the riddles, then it is suggested to visit Polyeidus at the village’s the Commission’s campsite after listening to the Sage to get clues about the quest.
How To Solve The Riddle Of The Body

The body riddle entails the capture of the Norgan Giant in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Go to the resting inn and talk to Dwayne, who is the son of Dorin. Dwayne will tell you that there is a giant around the village. After talking to Dwayne, take a rest overnight, and you will hear the roar of the Norgan Giant, and a cutscene will show that the giant is creating havoc in the nearby regions.
Where To Find The Norgan Giant

Once the cutscene ends, check your map for the marked location. Head there, and you’ll find Dorin standing beside the corpse of another Norgan Giant. He’ll explain that the creature you’re chasing went up the nearby cliffs. Dorin will also give you two Vitalic Drenches and one Regeneration Elixir to help with the upcoming fight.
How To Defeat The Norgan Giant

While walking up the hill, always stay close to the left wall because the roar of the giant could result in an avalanche that may knock you off your feet and hurt you. The Norgan Giant attacks using a branch of the tree, and it has the ability to freeze you and your pawns. It would be advisable to stay away from the giant while it is preparing for the breath attack. In case any of the pawns is affected by the attack, revive him/her immediately.
It is recommended to use Magick Spearhand and use it to shield your characters. If anyone in your party has any Fire skills, then it is super beneficial in this battle. Also, as you examine the beast’s back, you can extract the thorns after holding the beast down. Besides the back thorns, you can also work on destroying the tusks at the back. Climb up its back and break all the tusks here to cause it to take damage.
Launch your attacks until the Norgan Giant is dead, then collect the Mournful Giant’s Tusk from its corpse.
How To Solve The Riddle Of The Soul
In order to solve the Riddle of the Soul, the Sage will ask you to locate a crystal linked to the red dragon. After talking to Polyeidus about it, talk to Jiera, and she will direct you to Beorcan Stronghold. The snowstorm in that area is created by an extremely strong Fimbl dragon.
How To Find The Fimbl

The dragon will be found past a huge gate that lies on the other side of the castle. But getting to the dragon is not possible from the castle gate or through the hall. Rather, go around Beorcan Stronghold to find a fake floor that you will drop down on.

Go down the ladder to get to the other end of the castle by passing through the rooms to locate another ladder. Then continue climbing until you get to the other end of the castle, where you will locate a Riftstone of the Calm. From there, go upstairs to the courtyard to meet the Fimbl.
How To Defeat The Fimbl

The Fimbl is an extremely difficult boss that can attack using strong physical hits, as well as ice and lightning magic attacks. In addition to slamming the ground and launching icicle shards at the player in waves, the monster can soar high up in the sky to hit with its lightning magic and throw icy shards at the target. The latter will become accessible to the beast later in the battle. The only way to defeat this creature is to constantly be on the move and try not to get hit by its attacks.
Fire attacks will come in handy here again, so attacks from the Fire Boon and Magick Archer with Blazefang Arrows will deal maximum damage. Once the boss is staggered, aim for the heart, which is its weak point. You can distract the boss using pawns, especially the Warrior, so that you can get a clear shot at it. Similar to the Norgan Giant, you can reuse the Magick Spearhand’s shield ability for protection.
Once the Fimbl is dead, collect the Frozen Wyrmslife Crystal and hand it over to the Sphinx to complete this riddle too.
How To Solve The Riddle Of The Will
The Sphinx asks you to find an item that represents the will to defy ruin. You’ll need to return to the northern stronghold where you previously fought the Fallen Dragon.
Where To Find The Decorative Brooch

Head back to the battlegrounds of your fight against the Fallen Dragon and locate the decorative designs on the ground close to the Commission’s soldiers. You will discover the Decorative Brooch at the centre of that location. Pick up the object and take it with you.

Remember to head out from there very shortly, as ghouls will soon appear in that area. With the Decorative Brooch in your possession, go back to the Sage and give him the brooch. Once you complete all three puzzles, the Sage will tell you about your next task, which is to investigate the area beyond the large ice wall and continue the questline.
