The Potato Beetle Buggy is a new buggy that was introduced in Grounded 2 via the Rot and Ruin update. The Potato Beetle Buggy is a tier 3 buggy that is very strong, with high health, great damage, and an amazing turret. It can be used for healing, pushing enemies, and breaking some rocks during your exploration. But first, you have to unlock its blueprint and hatch its egg. Here is how to unlock and hatch the Potato Beetle Buggy in Grounded 2.
How To Unlock The Potato Beetle Buggy

Potato Beetle Buggy is a newly introduced buggy in Grounded 2 within the Rot and Ruin update. This buggy is Tier 3 and is one of the most robust buggies, with great health and damage.

In order to unlock this buggy, you will first have to go to the Pergola zone and climb up. You will see the bird’s nest where you will get the chip. If you have already unlocked this chip in the Into the Abyss update, then you don’t need to collect the chip. Once you collect the chip, take it to the Ranger Station and put it in. After that, purchase the blueprint of this buggy for 5,000 Raw Science.
How To Find A Potato Beetle Egg

When the blueprint has been unlocked, you will need a Potato Beetle Egg in order to spawn the buggy. Go to the bridge section and climb onto the bridge itself. Find the plank which is featured in the screenshot below where Potato Beetle Eggs can be found. The egg can spawn both during daytime and nighttime.

Take the egg and return to your base. The best way to do this is to put the egg on the buggy, give up, and respawn. Once you have respawned, whistle for your buggy, and it will bring the egg along. This way, you don’t have to carry the egg through the water surrounding the bridge.
How To Hatch The Potato Beetle Buggy

Once you have the egg at your base, take it to the Hatchery. You will need the following materials to hatch it and crafts its saddle:
- 1 Potato Beetle Egg
- 3 Chrysalis Leather
- 3 Black Ant Parts
- 3 Pinecone Pieces
The egg will hatch in 12 in-game hours. While sleeping can be used to speed things up, the egg still needs to hatch for the required 12 hours. Once the egg has hatched, the player has to return their existing buggy to the nest so that they can use the new one. The Potato Beetle Buggy has a pinecone on top and an artillery gun.
