Crude Oil is one of the most important resources you will need in the later stages of Palworld since it is necessary for building numerous items and structures. Although you can collect Crude Oil manually, the better option would be to automate the process so that it can save you both time and energy. With your base already established, your Pals will continue to supply Crude Oil without any problem for you. In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the Crude Oil Extractor, build an oil farming base, and choose the best Pals to keep everything running smoothly.
How To Automate Crude Oil Farming
Before you start, you should unlock the Crude Oil Extractor by reaching Technology Level 50. To craft the extractor, you will need 250 Pal Metal Ingots and 50 Circuit Boards. One Circuit Board requires 2 Pure Quartz and 1 Polymer.
After you craft the extractor, you should place it above a Crude Oil Deposit. Crude Oil Deposits can be easily recognised by their appearance; they are similar to vents. You can find several deposits on the map, so you can use any of them.
Your base shouldn’t be very complex. Place the Palbox in such a way so that its work zone includes Crude Oil Deposit. Then, build several beds, a food box and put some food there to let your Pals continue working. Crude Oil Extractor spends a lot of energy, so you will need several Power Generators in the base. They can be placed anywhere in the base, as they don’t have to be near the extractor.
Assignings Pals
In order to get the best result, use Pals who are suitable for Electricity work only. In this way, they will remain in one place and not leave to do other types of tasks. Pals such as Orserk and other Electricity-only specialists will be perfect, as they will produce energy constantly.
It would be better if you unlocked the Large Power Generator, as it gives you more electricity. Before building this structure, you will have to study it in the Pal Labour Research Laboratory.
Once all machines have been supplied with energy and your Electricity Pals are active, the Crude Oil Extractor will start giving you Crude Oil automatically. From then on, all you need to do is return occasionally to collect the oil from the extractor or nearby storage.
Crude Oil Farming Location
When searching for the right spot to build an oil base, you can choose from many options. One of the best choices includes the western part of the Volcano Island. On that island, you will find three oil nodes, which will allow you to build your oil base within the radius of Palbox. Two of those are located next to each other, and the third is a little bit farther away from them.
However, if all you want to do is farm for oil, then there’s a much better place for you to build on the eastern islands. The spot has six nodes of oil divided into two parts: the top and bottom sections. It’s possible to cover roughly five of those by strategically placing your Palboxes.
But if you want Crude Oil without any delay and cannot afford to wait for your extractors, then there is an active farming method for getting Crude Oil which takes less time. The fastest option for that would be to go to the level 55 Syndicate Oil Rig and simply kill all the Syndicate enemies on the oil rig because they drop Crude Oil quite often.
