Crafting Ulu-Mulu is a part of Chapter 4 objective that proves to be one of the challenging quests in the game, which requires you to defeat 4 great creatures and harvest them for materials to craft the Ulu-Mulu. This guide walks you through the full crafting chain, starting from the Ur-Shak, materials required to craft the Ulu-Mulu, tracking down the 4 great creatures, tracking down Tarrok and delivering those harvested components so that Tarrok can make the Ulu-Mulu for you. By the end, you’ll be able to craft the weapon efficiently and move on with a weapon that carries significance amongst the Orcs.
Ur-Shak
After talking to Ur-Shak, you’ll learn about the Ulu-Mulu weapon which carries significance amongst the Orcs. Obtaining an Ulu-Mulu will grant you access to the Orc Enclave and orcs no longer are hostile towards you unless and until you attack them first.
Crafting Ulu-Mulu
To craft the Ulu-Mulu you’re going to need 4 key resources, which are – the tongue of a fire lizard, horn of a great shadowbeast, teeth of a swampshark mother and the tusks of a troll.
Tongue of a Fire Lizard
To find a Fire Lizard, head to the lava area where you fought the Fire Golem near the Xardas Tower. Scout the area around the lava, Fire Lizards are known to roam in these areas and you’re very likely to find them here.
Then you need to defeat the Fire Lizard and harvest its tongue. That’s 1 out of 4 resources needed to craft the Ulu-Mulu and the easiest one to obtain from the others.
Tusks of a Troll
Head to the above location on the map to reach the Troll Canyon, which is located north of the Valley. You should be familiar with the location since you’ve already been here once during Chapter 3 to collect the focus stone.
The troll of the canyon will respawn and you need to defeat the troll and harvest its tusks. You can defeat the troll as is or you can buy the shrink monster scroll through Xardas and use it on the troll in order to defeat him.
Teeth of a Swampshark Mother
You can find the Swampshark Mother in the deeper sections of the swamp. Make your way to the marked location in the swamps, near Shrat’s home. You’ll find the Swampshark Mother roaming the swamps at the marked location. Along the way to the mother’s location, you’ll encounter swampsharks – carry enough potions to survive them and as well as the mother.
After you’ve defeated the Swampshark Mother, harvest its teeth. This marks 3 out of 4 materials required to craft the Ulu-Mulu and only 1 material left to collect.
Horn of a Great Shadowbeast
Head to the marked location shown on the map near the Stone Circle and look for the cave shown in the above second image.
Enter the cave and you’ll find the Great Shadowbeast inside. Defeat the great shadowbeast and harvest the horns. With this, you now have all the materials required to craft the Ulu-Mulu and all you need to do now is to deliver them to Tarrok.
Tarrok’s Location
Tarrok is imprisoned in the New Camp’s mine which is called the Free Mine. During Chapter 3 the Old Mine gets flooded, so the Free Mine gets raided by Gomez’s men. You need to team up with Gorn to take over the free mine.
You’ll find Tarrok imprisoned in a prison cell, unlock the gates of the prison and speak with him to deliver the materials required to craft the Ulu-Mulu. Then wait there for sometime until Tarrok finishes crafting the Ulu-Mulu.
