The Mountain Fortress hidden laboratory in Gothic 1 Remake is packed with valuable loot tucked inside locked containers. This guide focuses on the specific chests found inside the laboratory area and gives you a practical lockpicking combination, where the chests are located, and what you should expect to find inside.
Hidden Laboratory Location
The hidden laboratory is located beyond the fireplace in the library of the mountain fortress. To reach the laboratory, you need to solve the bookshelf puzzle in the library to unlock the passage through the fireplace. Once you’ve solved the bookshelf puzzle, the hidden passage will be accessible. Go through the fireplace and you’ll reach the hidden laboratory, where you’ll find 2 locked chests.
Chest 1 Lockpick Combination
Follow the given below lockpick combination to unlock the chest-
- Move the 5th plate to the right once.
- Then move the 1st plate to the right 2 times.
- Now move the 2nd plate to the left 4 times.
- Then select and move the 4th plate to the right 5 times.
- Now move the 1st plate again to the right 5 times.
- Then move the 6th plate to the right 3 times.
- Now move the 2nd plate again to the left 2 times.
- And finally move the 3rd plate to the right once.
Chest 1 Rewards
Upon unlocking the chest, you’ll obtain the following rewards – Elixir of Magic Energy, Extract of Magic Energy and Essence of Magic Energy.
Chest 2 Lockpick Combination
To unlock the next chest inside the laboratory, follow the given instructions/lockpick combination below-
- Move the 2nd plate to the right 6 times.
- Then move the 3rd plate to the right 3 times.
- Now select and move the 1st plate to the left 4 times.
- Then move the 4th plate to the right 2 times.
- Move the 6th plate to the right 2 times.
- Then move the 2nd plate again to the right once.
- And finally move the 5th plate to the right once.
Chest 2 Rewards
Upon unlocking the chest, you’ll obtain the following rewards – Elixir of Healing, Extract of Healing and Essence of Healing.
