A hidden cave in the mountain near the Swamp Camp houses two zombies and rewards players with Ball Lightning Rune and a Hedge Bow if they’re willing to clear the cave. It’s tucked along the cliffside path which is north of the camp, entry requires navigating through ancient ruins and climbing skills. This guide shows the exact location of the hidden cave, how to get to the cave, how to defeat the zombies and collect the loot.

Path to the Cave
Head to the marked location shown on the map and search for the ancient ruins shown in the above image. You’ll have to cut through the forests, so expect scavengers along the way. You can skip fighting with them and just head for the ruins.
Proceed through the ruined arches and keep following that line of broken stonework and it will lead you deeper into the structure until you come upon a fight of stairs on the right side as depicted in the above second image.
Then follow the narrow path to the left just before the Magic Rune platform and stay on the path downhill and you’ll eventually reach a wall. You can climb up the wall if you have the climbing skills that you learnt from Theron.
After you’ve climbed up, stick to the downhill path to the left and you’ll come across another wall that you need to use to get down to the lower level to reach the secret cave.
Defeating Zombies
The cave is a house for 2 zombies, they are slow but tough as nails. The optimal way to defeat them would be to lure them outside the cave, and you climb up the wall that you used to reach down and then start attacking them with your ranged weapon, you can also use your rune magic like firebolt to deal damage.
Hedge Bow
After entering the cave, navigate to the other side of the cave and you can find the Hedge Bow at the edge of the cliff. This bow does 44 point damage and requires 34 dexterity to be able to use it.
Chest Lockpick Combination
You can also find a locked chest inside the cave that contains the Ball Lightning Rune along with other valuable loot. Follow the below steps to crack the lockpick –
- Move the 6th plate to the left 6 times.
- Then move the 1st plate to the right 4 times.
- Move the 4th plate to the right 5 times.
- Move the 6th plate to the left 5 times.
- Then move the 1st plate to the right 2 times.
- Select and move the 5th plate to the left 3 times.
- Move the 2nd plate to the right 4 times.
- Then move the 3rd plate to the left 3 times.
- Move the 6th plate to the left 2 times.
- Finally move the 4th plate to the right once.
This will solve the lockpick combination and unlock the chest for you to claim the Ball Lightning rune, which requires magic circle level 2 in order to be able to use it.
