Another one of the secret chests found in the Gothic 1 Remake is the New Camp Tavern Chest, which requires a little more work to obtain compared to others. To access this chest, you will first have to discover a secret route to the locked tavern room via an underwater tunnel below the tavern. Within this room, you will see Bran’s dead body and the chest. This guide will show you how to reach the room, unlock the chest, and collect the valuable loot waiting inside.
How To Unlock The New Camp Tavern Chest
If you need to access the locked room of the tavern in New Camp, make sure you go behind the tavern and swim in the lake. After swimming in the lake, you will see some current going into the underground tunnel. From there, follow the path until you find the stairs leading to the locked room inside the tavern. Upon accessing the room, you will see Bran’s body along with the tavern chest that can be looted. Here are the steps you need to take to open the chest:
- Shift the 3rd plate three times to the right.
- Shift the 4th plate four times to the left.
- Shift the 6th plate four times to the right.
- Shift the 1st plate two times to the left.
- Shift the 5th plate two times to the right.
- Shift the 3rd plate six times to the left.
- Shift the 4th plate three times to the right.
- Shift the 6th plate five times to the left.
- Shift the 2nd plate two times to the left.
If you are using the Xbox platform, always remember to press the D-pad right and left buttons when moving the plate in the directions indicated. The moment you input the code successfully, the chest will be unlocked. In the chest, you will find Bran’s Axe. The chest also holds 4 Rice Schnapps, 2 bottles of pure alcohol, and 3 Rice.
