Unlocking the Habitat Builder is the turning point to become a base architect in Subnautica 2. It gives you the power to build rooms, tunnels, hatches and advanced fabricators so you can leave your lifepod and start building a proper base. This guide shows how to unlock the recipe quickly, the exact materials to craft one so that you can have a functional habitat.
Note : You’re going to need to craft a Scanner to progress the game and obtain the Habitat Builder blueprint. You can check out my guide on How to craft Scanner.
Welcome Center Mission

To obtain the Habitat Builder blueprint, you need to progress the game. And to do that, you need to locate the structure as shown in the above image, which is the Welcome Center.

Head inside the center and you’ll notice a NoA terminal inside but it’s non-functional because it doesn’t have power. You can see a power socket to the right on the wall as shown in the above image, where you can insert a battery.
Note : You can check out my guide on How to craft a Battery.

After you’ve powered up the NoA terminal, go through the docs in the terminal. One of these docs include a Basic Basebuilding document, which will unlock the Habitat Builder tool.

But to be able to craft a habitat builder, you first need to scan 2 unique habitat builders which can be found at the Welcome Center area itself, one should be underground which can be accessed through the room where the NoA terminal lies and the second one can be found outside the welcome center.
Crafting Habitat Builder

After you’ve scanned 2 habitat builders, you’re going to unlock the Habitat Builder blueprint. And you’re going to need 4 resources to craft the habitat builder – titanium, glass, battery and copper wire. You probably know how to obtain titanium, copper wire and battery at this point of the game, so let’s take a look at crafting glass.

You’re going to need Quartz material to be able to craft Glass. You can craft it using the fabricator.
Once you’ve gathered the required materials, you can craft the Habitat Builder. With this you can now start building your base for operations, build new fabricators that can craft advanced resources etc.
