Basic Fins are the cheapest and fastest way to boost your swim speed in Subnautica 2. A two item craft that turns your early game materials into a huge exploration advantage. This guide gives the exact recipe, where to harvest the required materials and crafting the Fins.
Resources Required To Craft Fins
To be able to craft the Basic Fins through the fabricator, you’re going to need 2 resources – Rubber and Fiber. You can craft rubber and fiber using raw materials found underwater.
Crafting Rubber
You need to look for a glowing yellow orb as shown in the above image, it’s called Lucifer Rotsac. Once you obtain lucifer rotsac, you can craft rubber using the fabricator. To craft 1 unit of rubber, you’re going to need 2 rotsacs.
Crafting Fiber
To craft Fiber, you’re going to need fibrous pulp which is obtained by harvesting the kelp-looking plant as shown in the first image, Whip Gorgon. Then you can use this fibrous pulp to craft Fiber through the fabricator.
And once you’ve 2 Rubber and 2 Fiber units, you can craft the Basic Fins and these will be automatically equipped. With these fins, you can now move faster underwater which allows you to cover more ground.
