All Collectables Locations in Directive 8020

There are many collectable items in Directive 8020. Collecting Secrets will give information about the events on the Cassiopeia, which will make them more understandable. In case you missed any collectable items in the first run through the game, there is no need to restart it from scratch. There is a Turning Points feature that allows revisiting particular sections of various chapters, where it will be possible to collect those collectables which had been previously missed. Below are all collectable items that can be found in Directive 8020.

Secret #1 – Sleep Crew (Stalemate)

You will be at the Crew Quarters. Here, check the chessboard sitting on the table. Interacting with it will unlock the Stalemate secret.

Secret #2 – Cetus Mission (Count Down)

This is also in Episode 1’s Crew Quarters. Look to your left as soon as you can move. A calendar hanging on the wall contains the Count Down secret.

Secret #3 – Sleep Crew (Balance)

Enter the room on your left in the Crew Quarters and inspect the bonsai tree. This will reveal the Balance secret.

Secret #4 – Sleep Crew (Daddy in Space)

In the same left-side room, look at the datapad resting on the bed. Interacting with it gives you the Daddy in Space secret.

Secret #5 – Sleep Crew (Night Shift)

You can find Night Shift at the very beginning of Episode 1 in the Crew Quarters. Once you gain control of your character and can move around freely, enter the room on your right. Look at the table inside, and you will spot this secret there.

The Simms Recordings #1 – Green Tea

You can find this Simms Recording in Episode 2 during the Best Laid Plans chapter, inside the Crew Quarters. Head to Simms’ private room in the Sleep Technician’s section aboard the Cassiopeia. Once inside, look at the wall between her work desk and the door that leads back to the main Crew Quarters. Interact with the recording device mounted there to listen to the audio log and add this Simms Recording to your collection.

Secret #6 – Cetus Mission (Mission Summary)

At the far-left side of the Crew Quarters, interact with the display panel to obtain the Mission Summary.

Secret #7 – Cestus Mission (Pioneers)

In the Crew Quarters, head left and examine the utility strap lying on the bed. This allows you to view videos displayed on the walls. Face the terminal on the right and press the interaction prompt to collect Pioneers.

Secret #8 – Cassiopeia (Myths Retold)

Move forward to the Crew Quarters room, then move to the washrooms found on your right side. You will see a book near the bed slab. Grab this book and turn it around to get Myths Retold.

Secret #9 – Cetus Mission (Brave New World)

To find Brave New World in the first episode’s Medical zone, take a step forward and examine the display screen found to your left.

Secret #10 – Cetus Mission (The Goldilocks Planet)

Once you open the lock in the Medical sector, do not exit yet. Instead, check the right wall near the main gate and break into another room using the adjacent window. In this new room, go right and examine the datapad inside to get The Goldilocks Planet.

The Simms Recordings #2 – Patches

The Simms Recording can be found in Episode 2 while going through the Ship Shape mission. While progressing in the storyline, you will find the part where Simms uses the surveillance cameras to inspect the Medical Bay in order to find the breach on the ship. Do not interact with the surveillance cameras; instead, take the stairs on your left, which are located near the observation window.

At the top of the stairs, look at the wall to find a video screen with an interaction prompt. It can easily be spotted right after you get control of Carter. Interact with the monitor to watch the recording and obtain this Simms Recording item.

Secret #11 – Cassiopeia (Perfect Replica)

Perfect Replica can be found in Episode 2 under Simple Pleasures. When you are playing with Young, make sure that you find a video terminal in the surroundings. Watch the video to uncover the secret.

Secret #12 – Cassiopeia (Print As Needed)

Also in the Ship Shape chapter, you can pick up Print As Needed immediately after the same cutscene. This time, go to the right side of the room and examine the object attached to the wall.

Secret #13 – Dark Future (In Denial)

In Episode 2 of Ship Shape, In Denial will be found immediately following the cutscene. After you gain back control of the game, go to the left-hand side of the room and examine the object that is attached to the wall.

The Simms Recordings #3 – Red Alert

This Simms Recording can be found in Episode 2, in the Ship Shape segment. During the latter part of this segment, you will have control of Young and will have to collaborate with Eisele in order to restore power to the ship. Soon after taking control, advance towards the control panel in front of you. Look around the room to find the video screen to your right-hand side, which can be interacted with. Interact with the screen to access the recording.

Secret #14 – Sleep Crew (Carter)

Carter’s secret can be discovered in Chapter 2 at the Sleuth section. As soon as you get control of Eisele, look on your left-hand side. The object is situated immediately next to you, which makes it quite easy to find.

Secret #15 – Conspiracy (Bad Press)

While visiting the Sleuth level, make sure that you look for a bench next to the big head of the statue. When you interact with an item sitting next to it, you can get Bad Press.

Secret #16 – Sleep Crew (Frosted)

To get Frosted, proceed with the Sleuth level further and go upstairs. With the help of the scanner, remove the lockdown from one of the rooms and discover a cake on a table inside it.  Examine it to unlock the secret.

Secret #17 – Cetus Mission (No Object)

In the same room that you discovered Frosted in, search for the datapad resting on the table and interact with it. This will get you the achievement called No Object.

Secret #18 – Dark Future (Wish You Were Here)

As you make your way toward the Locker Rooms, take the stairs on the right. Do not enter the Crew Lounge just yet. Instead, continue forward and inspect the datapad ahead to unlock Wish You Were Here.

Secret #19 – Sleep Crew (Professional Chemistry)

After entering the Crew Lounge, look for the screen showing Carter and Simms in conversation. Right beside this screen, you will find the item needed to collect the Professional Chemistry secret.

Secret #20 – Flight Crew (Weak Spots)

During the Sleuth chapter, you will come across the first locked Main Hall door. Nearby, there are seats with a datapad resting on them. Examine this datapad to collect Weak Spots.

    Secret #21 – Flight Crew (Father’s Footsteps)

You can find Father’s Footsteps during Episode 2 in the Sleuth chapter. As you explore the area, you will come across the second locked Main Hall door. Right next to it, there is a photo frame. Pick it up and rotate it to reveal this secret.

Secret #22 – Flight Crew (Paving The Way)

Still in the Sleuth chapter, head to the area opposite the Locker Room. Here, you will find a book that you can examine. Pick it up and turn it over to unlock Paving the Way.

The Simms Recordings #4 – Sweet Dreams

You can collect this Simms Recording in Episode 2 during the Ship Shape chapter, while playing as Eisele. When you reach the point where you can choose between two paths, take the upper staircase. Follow the hallway at the top, and look for a recording device mounted on the wall. Interact with it to play the audio log and add this Simms Recording to your collection.

Secret #23 – Science Crew (At Any Cost)

To collect At Any Cost, you first need to use the Locker Override Code 13576. Once the lockers are unlocked, open the lockers on the right-hand side. Inside, you will find a book. Interact with it to obtain this secret.

Secret #24 – Flight Crew (Promises)

After entering the Locker Override Code 13576, check the lockers on the left-hand side. Inside one of them, you will find a datapad. Read it to unlock the Promises secret.

The Simms Recordings #5 – Slingshot

You can find this Simms Recording in Episode 3 during The Sample, in the Gear Up chapter. At this point in the story, Cooper and Cernan are searching the ship for the override tool that allows you to open locked doors throughout the game. Their search leads them to the Tool Shed.

Once you enter the Tool Shed, you will see the override tool on the right side of the room. Before picking it up, look to the left side instead. There, you will find a recording device that you can interact with. Play the recording to add this Simms Recording to your collection before continuing with the story.

Secret #25 – Conspiracy (Words of Affirmation)

In Episode 3 during the Search chapter, you will be controlling Cooper. Look to the right side of the area, where you will find a book. Interacting with it will unlock Words of Affirmation.

Secret #26 – Sleep Crew (Simms)

Also in the Search chapter, climb through the nearby window and head toward the back-left corner of the room. There, you will find an Audio Log. Play the recording to collect the Simms secret.

Secret #27 – Dark Future (Nutrimito)

For Nutrimito, start by overriding and opening the door in the upper-right corner of the Mess Hall. As soon as you enter, look to your left to find the Food Storage code: 0402. After noting the code, return and climb through the window. Use the code to unlock the Food Storage area. Inside, you will find a leaflet that contains the Nutrimito secret.

Secret #28 – Conspiracy (Game Changer)

Inside the Mess Hall during the Search chapter, check the left side of the room. A datapad is waiting there, and interacting with it will unlock Game Changer.

Secret #29 – Science Crew (Fit To Fly)

To obtain Fit to Fly, override and open the door on the left side of the Mess Hall. Once inside, head to the back of the room and inspect the collectable found there.

Secret #30 – Science Crew (A Friend Indeed)

While still exploring the Mess Hall, head to the upper-right section of the room. You will find another datapad here. Read it to collect A Friend Indeed.

The Simms Recordings #6 – Special Permission

You can collect this Simms Recording in Episode 3 during The Sample, in the Search chapter. After exploring the Mess Hall, you will use the battery to unlock access to the lower level. Once the new path is open, head down the stairs toward the large Cassiopeia sign.

After descending the first set of stairs, turn left before continuing with the main objective. This will bring you back toward the direction you originally entered from. Look at the wall beside the staircase you just used, and you will find the recording device mounted there. Interact with it to play the audio log and add this Simms Recording to your collection.

Secret #31 – Cetus Mission (Terraformation)

Also in the Drugs chapter, make your way to the room where you can speak with Anders. Once inside, look toward the back-right corner of the room and activate the video terminal to collect Terraformation.

    Secret #32 – Conspiracy (Charybdis)

You can find Charybdis in Episode 5 during the Drugs chapter. While controlling Cooper, head to the left side of the area and interact with the terminal mounted on the wall. This will unlock the secret.

Secret #33 – Cassiopeia (Orbital Oddities)

While you are in the cockpit during Radio Silence, look beside the chair on the left to find a note with the letters CAIF. Converting each letter into its position in the alphabet gives you the code 3196. Use this code to unlock the secured compartment nearby. Inside, you can access a log that reveals the Orbital Oddities secret.

Secret #34 – Cassiopeia (To Do List)

In Episode 5 during Radio Silence, this secret is available right at the start of the section. Go upstairs and enter the cockpit. On the right side, you will find a datapad. Interact with it to unlock the To Do List.

The Simms Recordings #7 – Hostile Fire

You can find this Simms Recording in Episode 5 during Mr. Williams, in the Radio Silence chapter. At one point, you will need to redirect power to the elevator using the diamond-shaped power router mounted on the wall nearby.

Before sending power to the elevator and moving on, switch the power to the left instead. This will unlock a nearby locked door. Go inside the newly opened room and look at the wall to find the recording device. Interact with it to play the audio log and add this Simms Recording to your collection before continuing with the story.

Secret #35 – Science Crew (Love Lost)

Later in Radio Silence, you will reach a point where Cooper goes through a door. Instead of following immediately, take the stairs on your right and then turn left. Near a picture of open fields, you will find a photo frame. Pick it up and rotate it to unlock Love Lost.

The Simms Recordings #8 – Field Agent

You can collect this Simms Recording in Episode 6 during Hostile Takeover, in the Detour chapter. This recording appears fairly early in the chapter while you are making your way toward Hydroponics to investigate the strange shadows. The character you control may vary depending on which crew members are still alive in your playthrough, but the recording will always be in the same place.

As you explore the area, look for the Geoscience Lab. The door is locked, so you will need to use your override tool to open it. Once inside the lab, check the wall for a video screen. Interact with the screen to play the recording and add this Simms Recording to your collection before continuing toward Hydroponics.

Secret #36 – Science Crew (Cernan)

In Episode 6 during the Detour chapter, look for a door next to the Exec Room that leads into a vent. Crawl through the vent and turn left when you exit. In the left corner, you will find an Audio Log. Play it to collect the Cernan secret.

    Secret #37 – Conspiracy (Mcmara’s Secret)

Continuing through the Detour chapter, enter the next room and check the wall on your right. Interact with the item there to unlock McNamara’s Secret.

Secret #38 – Cetus Mission (Making The Call)

When you reach the section where you need to cross a large gap, drop down from the stairs and squeeze through the narrow opening. Climb over the obstacle and look to your left to find a power rerouting panel.

Redirect the power to the locked door behind the obstacle, then lift the lockdown and enter the office. On the left side of the room, you will find a datapad containing the Making the Call secret.

Secret #39 – Cetus Mission (Meet The Tardigrades)

After obtaining the Power Cell, continue through the next door. When you see the Astroscience room on your right, override the door and go inside. On the left side of the room, there is a video terminal. Play the video to unlock Meet the Tardigrades.

Secret #40 – Conspiracy (Faster Than Fiction)

While still inside the Astroscience room, head to the center where the Solar System display is located. Next to this model, you will find a datapad. Interact with it to collect the Faster Than Fiction secret.

Secret #41 – Flight Crew (Stafford)

You can collect Stafford in Episode 6 during the Detour chapter. Just before you enter the Hydroponics door, turn to your left. In the corner, you will find an Audio Log. Play it to unlock this secret.

Secret #42 – Cassiopeia (Cracks Appear)

In Episode 7 during the Search Party chapter, follow the main trail until you notice a side path climbing uphill on the left. This is easy to miss because it is not part of the main route. Head up this path to find a broken helmet, which reveals the Cracks Appear secret.

    Secret #43 – Conspiracy (Mcnamara’s Confession)

During the Pod Room chapter in Episode 7, you will eventually emerge from the vent system into a large room filled with metal walkways. Instead of heading directly to your objective, go left and press the nearby button to lower a ladder. Climb up the ladder and inspect the note attached to the wall to unlock McNamara’s Confession.

Secret #44 – Flight Crew (Mitchell)

Still in the Pod Room chapter, look next to the Reactor Elevator. You will find another Audio Log there. Play it to collect the Mitchell secret.

Secret #45 – Conspiracy (Duplication Analysis)

In Episode 7 during the Geoscience chapter, you will be controlling Cernon. Turn around and use your scanner to locate a power rerouting point. Redirect the power to open the nearby door. Next, use the window to lift the lockdown and leave the room. After that, climb back in through the window and interact with the datapad inside to obtain Duplication Analysis.

Secret #46 – Conspiracy (See Attachment)

In Episode 8 during the Redirect chapter, you will be playing as Stafford. As soon as you gain control, turn to your right to spot a datapad. Interact with it to unlock See Attachment.

The Simms Recordings #9 (Rabbit Hole)

You can find the final Simms Recording in Episode 8 during Come True, in the Redirect chapter. During this section, you will be trying to avoid the impostor Eisele while repeatedly rerouting power to different parts of the ship.

When you reach the power control panel located just outside the bathrooms, switch the power so that it supplies electricity to the Locker Room door. Once the door unlocks, head inside while staying alert, as the creature may still be nearby. Look at the wall inside the Locker Room to find a video screen. Interact with the screen to play the recording and collect the last Simms Recording in Directive 8020.

Secret #47 – Cetus Mission (Worth Fighting For)

During the Atrium chapter in Episode 8, make your way to the upper floor. After obtaining the Power Cell, head left after climbing the stairs. You will find a datapad there that contains the Worth Fighting For secret.

Secret #48 – Conspiracy (Keeping Tabs)

In Episode 8 during the Mess Hall chapter, head straight toward Colony Control. Before reaching it, check the room on your left. Inside, you will find a log that unlocks Keeping Tabs.

Secret #49 – Conspiracy (Classified Orders)

The final secret, Classified Orders, is located in the same room as Williams 2.0. Search one of the corners of the room to find this last collectible and complete your full secrets collection in Directive 8020.

    Secret #50 – Conspiracy (Williams 2.0)

Later in the Mess Hall chapter, you will enter the room where you must purge the Elevator Shaft after escaping the hostile life form. Inside this room, you can find the Williams 2.0 secret.

    O Death #1 – This Doesn’t Belong Here

You can find the first O Death secret in Episode 8, Come True, during the The Way Back scene (also listed as a Turning Point node). As you progress through this section, you will need to use a Power Cell to open a vent.

Crawl through the vent and continue solving the small puzzles along the way. After making your way through the area, you will eventually come across the Obol coin. Picking up this coin will unlock the first O Death secret, This Doesn’t Belong Here.

The Simms Recordings #10 – At Peace

You can find this Simms Recording in Episode 8 during Come True, in The Way Back chapter. This area contains several collectibles, so it is worth exploring carefully before you leave. As you make your way toward the door you need to use to escape, look at the wall just ahead of the exit.

Mounted there, you will find a recording device that you can interact with. This recording is located very close to the Obol coin that unlocks the first O Death secret, so if you are collecting everything, be sure to pick up both items before moving on. Play the recording to add this Simms Recording to your collection.

O Death #2 – The Man In The Bowler Hat

You can find this collectible in Episode 1 during the Medical chapter. After restoring power to the Medical area, continue forward until you enter the Medical Reception.

As soon as you step inside, you will notice a large circular reception desk in the center of the room. Walk around the desk until you find an opening that lets you go behind it. On the floor behind the desk, you will see Simms’ Personal Log.

Interact with the log to listen to the recording about The Man in the Bowler Hat, which unlocks this O Death secret.

    O Death #3 – Paranoia

You can unlock the Paranoia O Death secret in Episode 3 during the Search chapter. Continue through the level until you use a Power Cell to open the first door and enter the next room. Once inside, head to the right side of the area and look for a console panel mounted on the wall. Interact with the panel to trigger the recording and unlock the Paranoia secret.

    O Death #4 – O_DTH

You can unlock the O_DTH secret in Episode 5 during the Radio Silence chapter. As soon as this section begins, turn around and take either set of stairs leading to the upper level behind you. At the top, head down the dark corridor in the middle.

Follow the hallway toward the Cockpit entrance. Near the end of the corridor, look to your left to find a terminal mounted on the wall. Interact with the terminal to access the recording and unlock the O_DTH secret.

    O Death #5 – Bloodlines

You can find the Bloodlines O Death secret near the end of this section. Eventually, you will see Cooper standing ahead of you in a beam of light as she looks into the Crew Lounge. When this happens, do not follow her through the door right away.

Instead, take the stairs on your right and turn left at the bottom. Walk past the table and chairs toward the Atrium doorway. From there, head up the stairs on your left. These stairs loop back around and lead to a darker area with a locked door to the Crew Lounge. Near this locked door, you will find a datapad. Interact with it to unlock the Bloodlines secret.
