In this guide, we will show you how to unlock it, build it, and what you will need to get it started.
How to Get Tanning Rack

Go to your Journal and Discovery tab, and explore the Foothills. In there, you will have to unlock the resource Tree Bark. After unlocking Tree Bark, the recipe for Tanning Rack will be unlocked for you. How to Craft a Tanning Rack

The Tanning Rack is a crafting station that lets you turn raw animal hides into useful materials. You can only use it if it’s placed within the range of a Bonfire, so make sure you set it up nearby. Building it is quick, it takes just 1 second, and it requires:
- 10 Wood
- 5 Rope
Once it’s ready, you can use the Tanning Rack to craft things like Tanned Leather and Tarred Fabric, which are important materials for making stronger gear and upgraded items later in the game.
You can make Rope at the Workbench. To craft it, you just need Plant Fibre. Every 3 pieces of Plant Fibre will give you 1 Rope. Wood is a basic resource you get by cutting down large trees and palm trees.
You need to explore the world to find and chop the trees, and you will gather plenty of wood for crafting and building. You can collect Plant Fibre in the very first biome. Walk up to the grass and cut it down to collect the material.
