As you progress in Windrose, you will need better crafting stations to make stronger materials and upgrades. The Large Smelting Furnace is one of the key upgrades that helps you turn raw resources into valuable ingots. It plays an important role once you move into tougher areas and start working with advanced gear. While unlocking it takes a bit of progress, using it makes crafting much easier and more efficient. In this guide, we will tell you how to build it and how to use it effectively.
How to Build a Large Smelting Furnace

The Large Smelting Furnace is a high-quality crafting station which is necessary when processing more advanced resources. This station is functional only when placed outside the base or under a shelter. On top of that, it must be built within the range of a Bonfire, otherwise it won’t function at all.
This construction station will become available when discovering the smelting process of Mire metal, including Blacksmith Bellows and Jeweller’s Table. The majority of the resources related to this station are collected in the Cursed Swamps biome, alongside other resources like Ancient Scraps.
Building it is quick and only takes a second once you have everything ready. To craft the Large Smelting Furnace, you will need 20 Hewn Stone, 10 Foothills Iron Ingots, and 20 Clay.
How to Use a Large Smelting Furnace

After setting up the Large Smelting Furnace, you will be able to use it for crafting some important items. Using this furnace will allow you to make ingots from raw material, along with items that will help you progress further. Using this furnace, you can craft Copper Ingots, Essence Arborum, Foothills Iron Ingots, and Mire Metal Ingots. All these items play an important role in upgrading your equipment and getting better items.
