Getting your first pair of boots in Windrose is an important step that makes exploring much easier and safer. While the process isn’t too difficult, it does require a bit of preparation, including gathering materials and setting up the right crafting station. You will be collecting resources like Rough Hide and Coarse Fabric, which are easy to find once you know where to look. In this guide, we will tell you how to craft your own Boots in Windrose.
How to craft Boots

Survivor’s Boots may appear like a simple form of equipment, but it is quite effective for travelling in difficult terrains, such as the jungle, or for facing enemies, including boar monsters. Though they look basic, they provide good protection during your journey in the first stages.
For crafting one pair of the Survivor’s Boots, you will need:
- 2 × Rough Hide
- 2 × Coarse Fabric
Remember that you should have the Armour and Clothing Workshop, which needs to be placed under a sheltered building for these boots to be crafted.
How to Get Rough Hide

At the start, your main way of getting Rough Hide is by hunting animals like boars and other furry creatures on the starting islands. As you progress, you will eventually reach Tortuga through the main quest. Look for the Merchant Contract: Animal Products.
When you first buy it, it gives basic items like meat and feathers. But after you complete the Coastal Jungle storyline and defeat its boss, the contract upgrades. At that point, it starts offering valuable resources like Rough Hide, Boar Tusks, and Animal Fat.
How to Get Coarse Fabric

Go to the starting area and look at your surroundings to find some grass. Grass is generally available in good quantities in this zone. Chop the grass to get Plant Fibre. After collecting good amounts of Plant Fibre, return to your Workbench and access the Crafting menu. This way, you will be able to create Coarse Fabric. You need 3 Plant Fibre to craft 1 Coarse Fabric.
