The Trial Circle Ruins in Windrose hide more than ancient stonework – they’re a hotspot for buried treasure and the kind of chest you’ll want to clear as soon as you can. This guide pinpoints the locations of the Trial Circle treasure chests and solves the Trial Circle Firebowl puzzle so you can claim the grand prize.
Trial Circle Ruins Location
You’ll come across these Trial Circle Ruins during your main questline progression – Needle in a Haystack following a sub-quest where you have to search a camp near the ruins, and there should be 2 Trial Circle Ruins. One of them is just a casual treasure hunt which is on the north of the map but the other one which is to the south requires you to solve a puzzle.
Finding all Trial Circle Ruins Treasure Chests
You can find the first chest at the center of the ruins near a small tent but be careful because these ruins are filled with enemies, you’d have to clear them first before exploring the ruins and I recommend having a bed nearby because there’s just too many and you’ll probably die a couple of times.
Then from the first chest turn right and head up the stairs and you’ll find the second chest. Now, to get the rest of the treasures, you’d have to go to the chamber underground.
Look for this structure and you need a rope to tie to it so that you will be able to get down below. Always carry ropes when you see any Trial Circle Ruins.
Once you’re down below, head straight to the chamber shown in the above image and you’ll notice sailors and drowned fighting with each other, so just ignore them and get to the chamber.
There is a skeleton near the vase, you can loot the skeleton as its part of the ruins loot. Then pick up the vase and put it back in place which is to the locked door’s right just like how it is on the left side to the door. This is going to unlock the door and you’ll find a treasure chest inside.
Now backtrack and take right where the sailors and drowned were fighting, there are more enemies and you have to clear them. Once that’s done you’ll notice 2 more ways, left and right. You’ll notice a treasure chest on each side along with a skeleton which can be found through the way to the right, which can be easily overlooked.
Then backtrack to the intersection and you’ll notice a dilapidated wall on the opposite side, break it using a pickaxe and you’ll find the final treasure chest inside.
Trial Circle Ruins Firebowl Puzzle
Head to the Trial Circle Ruins to the south, you’re gonna need a rope to tie it to the iron ring to get to the below chamber.
You’ll come across a puzzle that you need to solve to unlock the door which has the treasure chest. There will be 4 braziers that you need to light to open the door but out of four, 2 of the firebowls are missing and you need to find them. You can find them going through the paths on the left and right.
First Firebowl ( Right Pathway )
Go through the path and you’ll come across 2 more ways, to the left you’ll find a skeleton that you can loot.
And to the right, you’ll notice the firebowl just past a trap wall. Pick up the firebowl but don’t go through the trap because holding the firebowl will slow you down and you might die. There’s an alternate path that will lead to the skeleton you just looted.
If you look around you’ll notice a way beside the entrance, pick up the firebowl and go through the path and along the way you’ll come across an ancient chest. Loot the chest and continue down the path.
You’ll come across a blockade, you need to mine them for a bit and the path will clear up, it will lead back to the beginning area just before the trap so you don’t need to deal with the trap anymore.
Second Firebowl ( Left Pathway )
Go through the left path and be careful as there are traps along the path like spiked ground and you’ll be greeted by enemies.
After you’ve cleared the enemies, go above to the left and you’ll find a treasure chest.
Then pick up the firebowl and mine your way through the wall, you’ll reach the starting area eventually and along the way you’ll come across another skeleton that you can loot.
Then place the firebowl on top of the brazier and light them, this will unlock the door and you can claim the Treasure Chest inside the room.
