Set within the hushed ruins along the Denn River, the Sanctum of Mortification mixes scavenger hunt detection with a satisfying mechanical payoff. Unlike other Sanctums, this one hides its key components outside the game’s highlighted search zone, forcing players to explore the northern wing for a pylon dome, burn away obscuring vines to reveal a hidden Reactor Core and use the Kuku Pot and Axiom mechanics in sequence to restore the sanctum’s power – a compact, story gated puzzle that tests observation and tool use.
Sanctum of Mortification Location

Head to the marked location as shown in the above image along the Denn River which is north of Demeniss, you’ll find the Sanctum of Mortification.
Note : This Sanctum is part of the main questline and you’d have to progress until Chapter 9 to get to the Sanctum to restore its power. You can’t restore the sanctum prior to the main questline even if you tried.
How to Restore the Sanctum?
We need to find the missing reactor cores of the sanctum and in this case we need two of them. One of them looks like a cube and the other one looks like the broken pillar’s head.
First Reactor Core Location

Head in the direction opposite to the Sanctum over the ruins walls and try to identify the door that is shown in the above second picture.

Navigate through the door and you’ll find the first reactor core floating on the stairs. Use your Axiom Force on the reactor core and then seal it using the Kuku pot.
Second Reactor Core Location

Backtrack outside the door, the same path you came in and turn right. You’ll notice that the walls are covered with vines.

Burn the vines using Focus Light skill and you’ll be able to notice the second reactor core through the bars but you can’t pull out the core so I recommend using Axiom Force on the core and sealing it using the pot and then head back to the sanctum.
Restoring the Sanctum of Mortification

Remove the first reactor core out of the Kuku pot’s inventory and fix it in place on top of the broken pillar by using Aerial Force Palm or Force Current, whichever is comfortable to you.

Do the same with the second reactor core, which needs to be placed into the empty socket to the sanctum’s side.

After you’ve placed both the reactor cores in place, the Sanctum of Mortification will be restored and you’ll encounter White Witch in a cutscene that plays shortly after.
