To level up your team faster in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, collecting Rare Candy is one of the easiest ways. Rare Candies raise a Pokémon’s level by one, which makes them very useful when you want to evolve a Pokémon quickly, prepare for a tough battle, or save training time. Some of these Rare Candies are easy to spot, while others are hidden in places you can easily miss. In this guide, we will show you all the Rare Candy locations in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

    All Rare Candy Locations

Rare Candy raises a Pokémon’s level by 1 and also gives a small friendship boost in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. In the Kanto region, there are 14 Rare Candies that you can collect during your adventure.

    Route 6 (Hidden)

To get the Rare Candy, go to the house’s right side, and you will find another white fence; this is where the Rare Candy can be found.

    Route 9 (Hidden)

For the Rare Candy, go right from where you found the Chesto Berry, and you will easily find the Rare Candy.

    Route 12 (Hidden)

You can find this on Route 12, hidden in one of the grass tiles there. To reach it, you will need HM01 Cut so you can clear the small tree blocking the way.

    Route 17 (Hidden)

You can find this on Cycling Road, hidden on one of the concrete tiles in the middle of the path. Because the slope keeps pushing you downward, hold the B button to slow yourself down and stop at the correct spot before picking it up.

    Mt. Moon (Hidden)

Take the stairs on the right and go to the third floor. On the bottom-right corner, you will find a wall against which the Rare Candy can be found.

    Cerulean City (Hidden)

In Cerulean City, you will be able to find the Rare Candy. Follow the stream of water and enter the blue-roofed house, and walk through it. This will lead you to an area where you will find flowers, and among them is the Rare Candy.

    Rocket Hideout

You can find this in the Rocket Hideout beneath the Game Corner, on B3F. It is placed right in the middle of the spinner tile puzzle, so you will need to follow the moving floor tiles carefully to reach it.

    Silph Co. (10th Floor)

You can find this on the 10th floor of Silph Co.. Go to the room in the bottom-left corner, where three Poké Ball items are placed together. The good part is that you do not need the Card Key to collect this one.

    Pokémon Tower

You can get this inside Pokémon Tower on the sixth floor. Look for the Poké Ball behind the staircase where the ghost Marowak appears. That ghost blocks the path to the top floor, so you will spot the item there before moving on.

    Fuchsia City

You can pick this up inside the Warden’s House in Fuchsia City. It is hidden behind a boulder, so you will need HM04 Strength to push the rock aside and reach it.

    Pokémon Mansion (Hidden)

Take the stairs on the right and go to the third floor. On the bottom-right corner, you will find a wall against which the Rare Candy can be found.

    Victory Road

You can find this on the first floor of Victory Road, hidden behind a boulder. You will need HM04 Strength so you can move the rock and reach the item.

    Cape Brink, 2-Island (Hidden)

You can find this in Cape Brink on Two Island, hidden on a tile behind the house of the ultimate starter Move Tutor. Check the area carefully behind the house, because the item is not visible at first glance.

    Lost Cave, 5-Island

To reach this in Lost Cave on Five Island, enter the cave and follow the correct path in this order: Right, Up, Down, Down, Right, Left, Down, then Left. If you take a wrong turn, the cave will loop you back, so follow the directions carefully.
