Tracks in the Sand is a story quest in Of Ash and Steel that takes place in the Port region of Greyhaft. It is a long quest where you need to talk with different people, find stashes near the harbour and save a girl from the Bandits. This guide will walk you through how to complete the Tracks in the Sand quest in Of Ash and Steel.
How to Start the Tracks in the Sand Quest


To start the quest, go to the Port region, in the Titan Pocket and wait till midnight. At midnight, go to the tavern in the port area. You need to exit the tavern by the door going towards the harbour. Then enter through the other door. Once you do this, Pinker will come inside the tavern. Pinker tells you to find hidden stashes when he collects some information. He tells you there are four stashes in total, hidden around the port. You need to find and collect all of them.
Stash Location 1

Go outside the tavern and go towards the harbour. Walk down to the port area and look for the fish shop. The first stash is outside the shop.
Stash Location 2

Go towards the harbour to the pier area. Go down toward the second pier. Look inside a crate to find the second stash.
Stash Location 3

Go behind the shipbuilding hangars and look for the area with unfinished ships. Walk through the narrow paths behind the buildings. The third stash is hidden there.
Stash Location 4

Go outside the hangar area and walk straight till you see a large statue. Turn right near the statue and go toward the Guardian Gate. The last stash is hidden in a nearby alley.
Meeting Pinker

Return to Pinker, and he will ask you to take a walk around the port to see what happens. Then return to the tavern. Near the entrance, a thug will attack you. Defeat him to continue the quest. Next, you need to collect information by asking the people.
- Tavern Innkeeper: Ask him about the gang leader. He will tell you that he made his name collecting debts.
- Captain Squatter: Find him near the port streets. He will tell you to stay away from the slums.
Cross the bridge and turn right to the last hut to find Roach. Roach will tell you that the gang doesn’t work at the port.
Finding Pinker

During the day, he stands near a signpost outside the city. Talk to him there and tell him what you know. After it ends, you need to save Ilida. Go back toward the harbour and head to the shoreline. You will see bandits. Rescue Ilida and tell her to return to her parents in the city. Return to Pinker one final time and tell him everything. He will thank you and reward you as well.
