Pius is one of the easiest characters to recruit in Octopath Traveler 0, and he joins your party early in the game. He’s a gentle and reliable bishop with a close connection to the protagonist’s family, and his mix of healing, support, and fire-based skills makes him a great addition to any team. How to Recruit Pius
You can add Pius to your team any time after finishing the Prologue. Just go to Cragspear, where you will meet him. He will then ask you to bring him to the protagonist’s mother’s grave so he can pay his respects. Follow him to your mother’s grave, and once you complete this short section, he will join your party.
Pius in Octopath Traveler 0
Pius is a bishop in the Order of the Sacred Flame. He’s a distant relative of the protagonist’s mother and was very kind to the protagonist when they were young. Now, he hopes to repay that kindness in his own way.
Pius’ skills include cleansing fire, stalwart veil, heal wounds, wild strike, sweep, flames of judgment, and sacred shield. Once you unlock four of his skills, he can restore HP to his partner whenever he’s sitting in the back row. As you continue adding JP to him, he also gains some stat boosts, like an extra 50 points to his elemental defence and another 50 to his speed. Later on, he learns a passive that lets him recover a bit of SP every time he lands a normal attack, which helps him stay for skill usage without relying too much on items.
His Ultimate Technique is called Scales of Justice, and it’s a powerful move. When he uses it, all enemies get their physical and elemental defences lowered for several turns, while your whole party gets an increase in both physical and elemental attack.
