Erdrick’s equipment is considered the most complete set of equipment within Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake, as all pieces have great statistics while granting special added features, which are super useful towards the very end.
There’s also an achievement — Erdrick’s Legacy — that’s specific to collecting and equipping all of Erdrick’s gear, and this guide will cover how to find each item to get that trophy.
(Note: You have to put on all of Erdrick’s equipment at once for the achievement to pop.)
How to get Erdrick’s Armour

Erdrick’s Armour is obtained by defeating the Knight Aberrant in Damdara.
You find Damdara in the southwestern corner of the world map. Approach the small alcove near the center of the area, just past a number of poison tiles, to initiate the battle.
Defeat the Knight Aberrant to have Erdrick’s Armour appear as a sparkly spot in that alcove.
Recommended Approach:
- Be at least level 30 before commencing the fight.
- Gear up with powerful equipment like Siren Sword, Dragon Shield, Phantom Mask, and Dragon Mail.
- Use Dodgy Dance early, and keep it on throughout the battle.
- Keep your HP above 210, or around 275 HP when under a defense debuff.
- Stay healthy with Moreheal, and save MP primarily for healing and Dodgy Dance.
- Use normal attacks to end the battle quickly.
