Having the double jump early on in The Outer Worlds 2 makes navigating around Eden a lot smoother and more enjoyable. In this guide, we’ll discuss where to pick up the quest that will get you the upgrade, how to reach Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove, and what you can expect when you arrive. If you’re interested in having your mobility and ability to reach hard-to-reach places earlier, this is the upgrade to have.
Where the Quest Starts

This upgrade is connected with the side quest “A Final Death for Gravity.” You’ll find it on Eden (also known as Paradise Island), the initial open area you will meet in the game. In this open area, your main mission is to reach Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove, a clear rocky building that you will see when you go in the correct direction.

From Fairfield, go west until you notice a large rock spire towering above the ground. Close to it is a ruined elevator control, which you will have to repair using an engineering skill of level 3 or higher. When you are near the location, you will notice a trooper drop suddenly from the air. Soon after, two NPCs, Othaham and Ferch, will shout down to you for assistance as they apparently have no means of getting down from where they are.

You will want to loot the dead trooper for the piece of equipment you are looking for: a P.A.L.E. (Plasmatic Augmented Leap Enhancer). By merely grabbing it, you will recover your ability to jump again in mid-air. You will also discover a group of schematics on the same corpse that will come in handy later.
What to Do With the Upgrade
With the schematics in hand, travel back to Fairfield and give them to Huell Chaudry, who’s typically standing outside the saloon with a sun symbol. Upon giving them to him, go back to the Grove and climb up the spire with your new double jump. The climb eventually leads to a control room at the top, and you’ll spot a Drive Overloader on the way—keep it, as it’s needed for your final decision at the controls.
