ARC Raiders: How to Get Free Loadout

In ARC Raiders, it is not always required to use your top gear just to participate in a raid. The game offers you an option, the “Free Loadout”, which enables you to directly enter the battle with a random selection of basic gear. It is very useful for beginners, for players who have just lost their stash, or any player who simply wants to practice before starting a serious run. In this guide we will tell you how the free loadout system works and what you can get while using it.

How to Get Free Loadout

To get a free loadout, start from the main menu and press “Play.” You will move to the map selection screen, and after selecting a map, you will be directed to the loadout screen. You’d usually choose items from your collection here to build a custom loadout, but you’ll see a tab labelled as “Free Loadout.” Click on that and click “Ready Up.” The game will then deploy you into a raid with a randomly selected set of gear.

A standard free loadout provides you with a general but well-balanced amount of equipment to begin with. You will have one piece of equipment with some ammunition, one or two throwables for immediate offense, two medkits to heal yourself, a Free Loadout Augment to improve your performance, and a light shield for added defence.

Free Loadouts in Raids

When using a free loadout, you spawn with randomised gear instead of your personal inventory. You won’t have as much carrying capacity and no safe places to stash gear, so everything you pick up is in danger until you manage to safely extract. You also can’t bring personal equipment into these runs, which means some missions that require specific tools may not be possible.

Free loadouts are particularly handy after a wipe when you’ve lost all your gear, or when you need to warm up and familiarize yourself with the map. They’re also good for solo scouting, trying out routes, or catching up quickly with a friend’s squad if you’re low on equipment.

To begin a raid with a free loadout, just select the free loadout option on the raid prep screen instead of pulling from your stash. You will get to see the randomised kit before going out, and you can’t replace with any personal items until after extract. Anything you do manage to extract gets to stay with you forever: your guns, medkits, and whatever loot you acquired in the run. But if you die, you lose everything from the run.
