In Dying Light: The Beast, you will reach a story mission called Power Gambit, where you’re sent to check out a power plant that suddenly stopped working. It’s an important part of the story, and you will need to find a way inside the building to continue. In this guide, we will show you how to start the mission and two different ways to get inside the main power plant building.
How to Start the Power Gambit Quest
The Power Gambit is the sixth main story mission in Dying Light: The Beast, and it becomes available right after you finish First Blood by taking down Mist, the Chimera. As soon as you return to the Town Hall, Sheriff Jacob will give you your next task: head to the nearby power plant and find out why it suddenly went offline. He makes it clear that restoring the electricity is critical, but something about the shutdown feels suspicious.
You will start the mission right from the Town Hall, and your destination, the power plant, will be marked on your map. Be prepared because it’s a bit of a trek. If you come across a car on the way, use it to save time. Before setting out, make sure you’re well stocked with medkits, lockpicks, and some reliable mid-game weapons, because you will need them once you reach the plant.
When you finally arrive, you will notice one of Jacob’s men, the foreman, trying to dissuade you from going any further. He will warn you against entering the facility, but you don’t need to hear his concerns and continue with your mission.
How to Get Inside the Main Power Plant Building
When you reach the power plant yard, you will see it’s filled with zombies. The only real way in is through a small open window high up on the wall. You won’t be able to climb up to it directly from the annex or nearby ledges. You have two options here: you can wade into the fight, cut down the undead workers, and use the energy you build up from Kyle’s beast abilities to launch yourself straight through the window.
The second option is to look for the small shed sitting right next to the plant wall. From there, you can carefully climb and move along the ledges until you work your way up to the open window. Either method will eventually get you inside the Main Power Plant Building.
