How to Open Pilgrim’s Rest Door, Far Fields Banging Gate – Hollow Knight Silksong

If you’ve come across the locked door at Pilgrim’s Rest in Hollow Knight: Silksong and aren’t sure how to open it, don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it looks once you know where to go. This guide will walk you through the abilities you need, the hidden path to take, and how to get past the obstacle course so you can finally unlock the door.

How to Open Pilgrim’s Rest Door – Far Fields Banging Gate

To unlock this door, you’ll need three abilities: Swift Step, the Drifter’s Cloak, and Cling Grip. They’re all necessary to get through the tricky platforming section that leads to the switch.

Start at Pilgrim’s Rest and head out through the left exit. Drop down the big vertical shaft until you’re about halfway down, then go into the room with the bench and the Bell Beast on the right. This is the room you’ll be working with.

Now, look closely under the small platform near the Bell Beast. Stick to the right wall and you’ll notice a hidden passage. Go inside, and that’s where the real challenge begins.

How to Complete the Obstacle

Next, you’ll have to make your way through an obstacle course. This part has you bouncing off red orbs, gliding on air currents with the Drifter’s Cloak, and carefully dodging spikes along the way. The game makes it pretty clear what you need to do, but pulling it off can still be pretty tough in practice.

When you reach the end of the obstacle course, the path will split. Take the left route and you’ll find a Rhinogrund guarding a switch. You can either fight it or slip past, then hit the switch with your Needle. Doing this will unlock the Pilgrim’s Rest door.
