In Lies of P: Overture, you’ll come across a side quest involving Salao, an old fisherman. This quest takes place in Chapter 4 and offers a mix of exploration and choice. Along the way, you’ll face a choice that affects how his story ends. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find Salao, how to get the beer, and what to do with the key he gives you.
How to Start the Salao Quest
In the Shipwreck Exterior Stargazer you will find Salao, the Old Fisherman, in Chapter 4 of Lies of P. Avoid going straight into the boat from the Stargazer. Instead, take the icy path on your left and keep walking forward. At the end of the path, you’ll see Salao sitting next to a giant fish he caught. Talk to him, and he’ll tell you about his big catch one of the largest fish in all of Krat. He’s proud of his achievement and asks you to bring him some alcohol so he can celebrate.
Salao Beer Location
You can find the beer for Salao at the Krat Lighthouse in Chapter 4 of Lies of P: Overture. Just a heads-up the Krat Lighthouse Stargazer is easy to miss, but it comes right after the Frozen Coast Stargazer, so keep moving forward from there.
As you continue from the Frozen Coast, you’ll spot a large lighthouse in the distance. That’s your destination. Head inside and make your way up the stairs. Eventually, you’ll reach a small room filled with shelves and desks. Look to the left side of the room, and you’ll see the “Old Bottle of Beer” sitting on a shelf. Pick it up, then head back to Salao, the Old Fisherman.
When you give him the beer, he’ll be thrilled. He’ll then ask if you told the villagers and the brat about his big catch. This is where you’ll need to make a choice: lie or tell the truth.
Tell the Truth or Lie
It’s best to lie here. Choose the option that says, “Everyone was impressed with your catch.” If you do, Salao will be happy and give you the Fisherman’s Weathered Key, which is needed to unlock the final part of his quest. If you tell the truth “Everyone in the village is dead” the conversation ends on a sad note and you won’t get the key.
Once you have the key, go to the right side of the stairs leading up to the lighthouse. There, you’ll find Salao’s shed. Use the key to unlock it. Inside, you’ll find the body of a sick woman lying on the bed. Interact with her to get the Old Fisherman’s Letter. Reading the letter will give you some Humanity and officially wrap up Salao’s quest.
