Expedition 33 Best Attributes For Each Character

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the battle depends not just on strategy and timing, but on how you build your character. As your character levels up, you’ll earn points in these attributes, allowing you to build their strengths and playstyle. Here’s a breakdown of the best attributes to invest in for every character in your expedition.

Best Attributes For Each Character in Expedition 33

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, each character has five main attributes that show how they perform in battle:

  • Vitality increases your health, letting you take more damage.
  • Might increases how much damage you deal.
  • Agility affects how quickly you get your turn in combat.
  • Defense helps reduce the damage you take.
  • Luck raises your chances of landing critical hits.

While these are the basic effects, some characters may get extra benefits from certain stats based on their unique abilities. Every time your character levels up, you’ll get three attribute points to spend. You can use these points to boost any of the five attributes just one point raises a stat by one level. To assign these points, stop by an expedition flag when you’re out exploring.

Gustave

For Gustave, the best attributes to focus on are Agility and Luck. His strength lies in fast, multi-hit attacks and helpful support buffs so increasing Agility lets him act quickly and get those buffs up before enemies can destroy your team. Meanwhile, Luck increases his chances of landing critical hits, making rapid attacks hit even harder.

That said, if you’re not using long combo moves like Lumiere Assault or Strike Storm often, you can swap out Agility for Might to increase his raw damage instead.

Maelle

For Maelle, the best attributes are Agility and Might. She’s great at boosting your team and weakening enemies, so you’ll want her to act early in each fight. The quicker she gets those buffs and debuffs out, the sooner she can dive into her offensive abilities.

Might increases her damage, which is good for her aggressive side. But if you’re using her multi-hit skills instead of single-powerful strikes, Luck can be a good alternative too, it increases her chances of landing critical hits, making those attacks even more effective.

Lune

For Lune, you need to focus on Defense and Vitality. She’s the main healer, so she needs to stay standing during tough fights. Investing in Defense helps her take heavy hits without going down, while Vitality gives her a bigger health to survive attacks she can’t dodge or block.

But if you’d rather play Lune as a damage-dealing magic user and have someone else handle healing, you can swap one of those for Might to boost her offensive power.

Sciel

For Sciel, the top attributes you need are Luck and Agility. She’s one of the strongest damage dealers, but she needs a little time to build up her Foretell meter before she can attack. Agility helps her act faster, so she can charge up Foretell quickly and get a buff or heal before the enemy attacks.

Once she’s in Twilight phase, Luck becomes really important. It boosts her critical hit rate, letting her deal massive damage. Most of her weapons also scale with Luck, so even if you’re using her powerful single-hit moves instead of multi-hits, Luck is still a better option than Might.

Verso

For Verso, the best attributes you need are Luck and Might. His skill tree is packed with multi-hit attacks, which give him a good chance to land critical hits even without increasing his stats. Investing in Luck increases the crit rate higher, making his attacks hit harder more often. Use Might, and you will deal serious damage.

If you often use Verso to mark targets for Maelle, you could also put a few points into Agility to help him act earlier in the turn order.

Monoco

For Monoco, the best attributes are Might and Agility. His abilities change based on the Nevron feet he collects while in your active party. Even with that variety, there are still some clear stat priorities.

To get the most out of Monoco, you’ll need to manage his bestial wheel carefully. Like Sciel, he benefits a lot from Agility, which helps him act sooner and build up his power before enemies can strike. Since Monoco doesn’t have many multi-hit skills, use Might instead of Luck to increase his raw damage. It’s a more reliable way to power him up across different builds.
