Ferrium Ore is an important late-game resource found in Arknights: Endfield that allows players to advance through the game. Unfortunately, accessing Ferrium Ore and extracting it comes with challenges. This guide will assist you in finding Ferrium Ore in the Originium Science Park, acquiring the tech to mine it, and generating sufficient energy for your mining production.
How to Look for Ferrium Ore

The Originium Science Park region contains this unique resource that does not become available until you have progressed further in the main story. To reach this resource location, you will need to take the route from the hub that goes toward the eastern passageway. Progression through the story is necessary to unlock this resource location.
When unlocked, you will see that Ferrium Ore nodes can be found throughout the area; one is near the main pathway, while the other is close by. A third clump of Ferrium Ore nodes can be found along the top-right cliffside trail, where multiple nodes can spawn together.
Unlocking the Required Mining Technology

Ferrium Ore can be mined after obtaining certain upgrades. To unlock the Basic AIC lll in the technology tree, you need to continue the storyline in Science Park with Yvonne. After obtaining Basic AIC lll in the technology tree, you can now get Mining lll, which grants you access to Electric Mining Rig MK ll. Without these, it is impossible to mine Ferrium Ore.
Once you have access to this technology, you will receive three free Electric Mining Rigs to begin mining Ferrium Ore immediately.
Power Setup and Efficient Farming

Before placing any mining rigs, you need to have first completed the Outpost Infra-Station main mission that can be found in your quest log. Only after completing this mission can you actually attach running wires from the outpost through relay towers to the nearest Ferrium Ore node.

You can place electric pylons near the nodes and deploy the Electric Mining Rig MK ll from your inventory to commence mining activities. The MK ll provides a similar mining speed as the standard mining rig; i.e., it will produce one ore every three seconds, so there’s no need to replace any older rigs that you might have.
Mining rigs MK ll are only required for Ferrium Ore nodes; this also includes the northern location, which uses electric pylons instead of relay towers. Once the setup is completed, you can continuously farm Ferrium Ore and convert it into Ferrium and Ferrium components.
