In Dune Awakening, you can choose from five different professions, and Trooper is one of them. If you didn’t pick Trooper when creating your character, you can still unlock it later. This guide will show you exactly where to find the Trooper Trainer, Gavuri, and walk you through the steps of his quest so you can unlock the Trooper profession for your character. This guide is based on a preview build of the game, so things might change slightly in the final version.
How to Unlock the Trooper Profession
In Dune Awakening, there are five professions available, and Trooper is one of them. If you didn’t choose it when you made your character, you can unlock it later by completing a short questline.
Find the Trainer – Gavuri
To begin, you need to talk to Gavuri, the Trooper Trainer. You’ll find him at the Griffin’s Reach Trade Post, located in Haga Basin South. Just head over there and speak with him. Once you go through the dialogue options, pick “I want to learn from you.” Gavuri will then give you a quest called Proving Grounds, where you need to hunt down and eliminate three of his old rivals.
Complete the Proving Grounds Quest
You’ll need to travel to three different locations, all in the far east of Haga Basin South. A sandbike will save you a lot of time, but you can also walk if needed.
First Target: Art Gulvin
Head over to Kiff Stand and make your way to the cave entrance marked on your map. Once inside, be ready for a fight you’ll need to take down Art Gulvin. After you defeat him, your contract will update on its own. Caves like this one are often have traps, so move carefully and keep an eye on your surroundings.
Second Target: Kiri Tol
Make your way to Shamal Tunnel, just east of Kiff Stand. You’ll find Kiri Tol hiding out in a cave on the west side of a smaller rock formation nearby. Take them out, and your quest will automatically update from there.
Final Target: Cardonus Olun
Head south from Shamal Tunnel to reach Edgeway Cavern, where you’ll find a cave in a large rock formation. Inside, keep an eye out for Cardonus Olun he’s usually positioned on a higher ledge. You’ll also have to kill two other scavengers nearby.
Return to Gavuri
Once all three enemies are defeated, head back to Gavuri at the trade post. Let him know you’ve completed the job, and you’ll unlock the Trooper skill tree.
