Top 5 Legendary Sniper Rifles in Borderlands 4 & Location

Borderlands 4 Sniper Rifles blast with an even more powerful punch compared to what they had before, with huge critical hits, status damage, and special mechanics to make each one exceptional. Along the way, you will come across legendary potential that will be capable of making you fly through challenging bosses and better content.

This guide breaks down the five best legendary sniper rifles, how to get them, and why each is worth farming.

1. Asher’s Rise

  • Effect: Slow Burn – Critical Hits impose status effects instead of dealing damage impact.
  • Drops from: The Oppressor of The Killing Floors (Fadefields, Dissected Plateau).
  • Requirement: Complete the main mission, A Lot To Process.
  • Flavour Text: “How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?”

Asher’s Ascension trades raw crit damage for steady elemental application. Each critical shot guarantees a status effect, which works seamlessly with elemental builds. Pair it with incendiary or corrosive skills to achieve stacked maximum DOT.

2. Stop Gap

  • Effect: Reconfiguration – Fire rate decreased to 20%, but damage is raised to an all-time high of 750%.
  • Drops from: Backhive in The Claim Abandoned Auger Mine (Fadefields, Dissected Plateau).
  • Flavour Text: “Do better. Try harder.”

Stop Gap is patience and accuracy. The shots slow and slow so long as you keep the trigger held down, but the roof takes damage. Used by a good sniper, this rifle can one-shot tough enemies and chunk bosses for entertainment.

3. Sierpinski Root

  • Effect: Sierpinski – Dumps expanding projectiles along the path, doubling potential hits.
  • Dropped by: Mimicron in Tipping Point Order Bunker (Idolator’s Noose, Fadefields).
  • Flavour Text: “It’s the core of all modern man-made gadgetry.”

The Complex Root forms a deadly group of energy trails which cut groups of enemies. While harder to handle at long ranges, it does nicely in close quarters or versus larger bosses, where all of the projectiles hit at once.

4. Vamoose

  • Effect: Rare – Light and inexcusably fast-firing for a sniper.
  • Dropped by: Shadowpelt at Whistler’s Maw, Abandoned Auger Mine (Cuspid Climb, Terminus Range).
  • Flavour Text: “Faster than a knife fight in a phone booth.”

Vamoose is a more marksman-focused gun compared to the regular sniper. With its fast speed, spam and pressure, it is ideal for mobile playstyles. Suitable for the player who hates the slower feel of the regular sniper.

5. Finnity XXX-L

  • Effect: Pipin’ Hot Barrels – Does not fire ammo when overheating.
  • Dropped by: Battle Wagon at The Lowering March Ripper Drill Site (Stoneblood Forest, Terminus Range).
  • Flavour Text: “As seen on Monday Night Rehabilitation.”

Finnity XXX-L is a reference to the old Infinity pistol, but as a sniper. As long as you just keep shooting and deal with overheating, basically, you have unlimited ammo. It’s an excellent sniper for those who like constant DPS without ever having to reload.
