The Wasteland Courier Avowed Quest Guide

In Avowed, the “Wasteland Courier” mission presents an exciting blend of enigma and choice. When you undertake this adventure, you meet a flustered merchant who asks you to deliver a package but doesn’t say what the package contains or where it needs to go. Rather, he asks you to take a chain of white arrows left throughout the map. Although these arrows may appear haphazard at the start, they take you on a wild goose chase with obstacles, foes, and difficult decisions. This tutorial will guide you through the process of fulfilling the quest, from tracking the arrows to determining the destiny of the drugs in the shipment.

    The Wasteland Courier Quest

In the quest “The Wasteland Courier” in Avowed, you’ll meet a nervous merchant who asks you to retrieve a mysterious package, but refuses to reveal its contents or location. Instead, he directs you to follow a trail of white arrows, which you’ll likely notice scattered around the map before even starting the quest. These arrows are spaced far apart, making it easy to dismiss them as random markings, so following them can feel like you’re on a wild goose chase.

    Follow the Arrow Trail

For this mission, your objective will be to find the graffiti. At the end of the arrow trail, you’ll come across some writing on a stone pillar that indicates you’re near your goal. To get there, head to the cave in the Deadfall Highlands. Follow the arrow pointing up a ramp, and at the top, you’ll find the cave entrance.

    Breaking Barriers and Defeating Spiderlings

Inside, you’ll walk along a curved stone pathway leading to a breakable wooden barrier, smash it with a standard attack, then defeat four Crystal Eater Spiderlings. After that, two more will appear. Beyond them, you’ll face a chasm that you can jump over, and on the other side, you’ll find graffiti.

When you reach the graffiti, head left and climb the next part of the cliff. Here, you’ll find more graffiti and have a view of a gorge where your destination lies. Unfortunately, the cliff is too steep to jump or slide down, so instead, approach the graffiti and notice that the wooden floor beneath you is breakable. Attack it to create a hole, then drop down.

Once you land, you’ll immediately face more Crystal Eater Spiderlings. As you move through the open area, you’ll encounter a few more. After defeating them, head to the raised ledge at the back and left side of the area, then run and jump through the opening on the right. This will lead you to Aiko’s Campsite.

Aiko’s Last Request: Choosing Between Tira Nui and Daiko

When you speak with Aiko, he seems dizzy from a recent spider bite. By the end of the conversation, he’ll ask for 500cp, but he dies shortly after. If you lie and tell him you don’t have the money, he’ll believe you, and you can loot him right away, either way, it doesn’t matter what you choose.

You’ll also have the option to take the drugs in the package before delivering them. If you do, which Yatzli will want you to, nothing happens, so again, it doesn’t really change anything. Once that’s done, you’ll face one last choice: return the drugs to the courier who asked for them or take them to Tira Nui.

The tricky part is that Tira Nui isn’t immediately obvious, and unless you’ve completed a bounty, you wouldn’t have met them yet. To find them, head to the bounty board and talk to the person there. If you deliver the drugs to Tira Nui, they’ll thank you and give you a Thirdborn Tira Nui Badge, which provides +2 Might when worn. On the other hand, if you return the drugs to Daiko, he won’t care if you opened the package. In return, he’ll give you a Poisoner’s Kit, which boosts your weapons with +5% Poison Damage.
