In the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest, you need to restore Alice to her original size. After discovering that Alice has been mysteriously shrunk, you will embark on a quest guided by the Cheshire Cat, who gives you the solution in the form of a magical substance called Contrary Perfume. The journey to gather the ingredients for this perfume is filled with challenges that require you to explore the wonders of the Alice in Wonderland Realm. This guide will take you through everything step by step.
The Teeny, Tiny Problems Quest
Once you have uncovered Alice’s unfortunate predicament, it becomes clear that the only way to help her is to consult the Cheshire Cat. While his answers often come in riddles, he eventually reveals a solution: a magical substance known as the Contrary Perfume, which holds the power to restore Alice to her original size. However, the path to creating this perfume isn’t simple. It requires you to gather rare ingredients kept throughout the Alice in Wonderland Realm.
Step One: The Search for a Jar of Hearts
The first ingredient on the list is a jar of hearts. You will find this item near the entrance to the Alice in Wonderland Realm. There are two ways to reach it: either leave and re-enter Disney Dreamlight Valley and fast-travel to the beginning of the realm, or take a short walk from the Cheshire Cat’s tree. Once there, look for a pond beside the entrance portal. Cast your fishing rod into the water, and you will have the jar of hearts.
Step Two: Speaking with the Singing Flowers
Next, you will need to seek out the matriarch of the singing flowers in the forest at the heart of the realm. If you’re still at the entrance, simply continue forward past the pond until you find the patch of musical flora. When you approach the matriarch, she won’t be immediately willing to help.
She and her children are wilted, and it’s your job to nurture them back to health. By watering the flowers, you’ll revive their spirits, and in return, they’ll give you Bags of Discontented Seeds, an important component for the Contrary Perfume.
Step Three: Finding a Mushroom That’s Feeling Blue
For the third task, you’re asked to find a mushroom that’s “feeling blue.” It’s a bright blue mushroom, easy to spot near the entrance to the realm. Head back there and look around the boulders until you find the large blue mushroom. Now, you’ll have to blend in by putting on something blue. Just a single item of clothing will do (blue jeans work perfectly).
Step Four: The Curious Case of the Pencil Bird
The final ingredient is connected to the Pencil Bird. It can be found perched on a pile of books near the first major intersection as you head deeper into the realm. Approach it, and it will present you with a riddle. Solving this puzzle will give you the final ingredient for your magical concoction.
Now, to get the Wonderland Plaque, answer all the questions correctly. Below are all of the Pencil Bird’s questions and their answers.
- Q: How many light pink stripes does the Cheshire Cat have on its tail?
A: Six - Q: What animal did you chase to get here?
A: A white rabbit - Q: What did the Mad Hatter and March Hare celebrate at Alice’s first tea party in Wonderland?
A: An unbirthday - Q: How many playing-card guards did you meet in the Queen’s garden maze?
A: 20 - Q: How many questions have I asked so far, including this one?
A: Five
Once you’ve gathered everything, head back to the entrance of the realm to craft the Contrary Potion, then deliver it to Alice.
Crafting the Contrary Potion
Use the Contrary Potion to make Alice return to her normal size. Now, Alice will reveal that she has come to rescue a group of critters that the Queen of Hearts has locked in the cages. Moved by Alice’s determination, your character feels inspired to help and decides to take the next step by using the Contrary Potion themselves.
Using the Contrary Potion on Yourself
Place the potion on the tea table and interact with it. It will trigger a transformation, and your character will shrink down to a smaller size and will then be teleported onto the table. As a tiny version of yourself, things become much more challenging. From this high ground, you need to take a picture of the table’s layout and squeeze the perfume bottle’s bulb to continue the quest.
Planning with Alice and Finding Board Games
Still tiny, you speak with Alice and review the photos you have taken from the tabletop. Both of you realize how difficult it is to get around in such a tiny form, and instead of trying to do everything as is, you decide to use the Queen of Hearts’ own games to make things easier. Below are the Queen’s Games locations.
Game | Location |
Playing Cards | Close to the tea table. |
Lovely Dice | To the left of the tea table, near two blooming rose trees. |
Lost Marbles | Hidden in a small alcove by the heart-shaped gate. |
Shrinking Again and the Search for Cage Keys
Once you’ve collected all the games, bring them back to the tea table. Don’t forget the teaspoon that Alice gave you before your first shrinking session, this will also help with interacting with the environment. With all these items arranged, it’s time to shrink down once again to locate four hidden cage keys.
Now, on the table in your miniature form, the next challenge is to locate the four keys needed to unlock the cages holding the captured animals. These keys are hidden in the table. Below are the locations of all four cage keys.
Key | Location |
Key One | Inside a pink teacup near the spawn point. Break the brown ceramic and fish it out. |
Key Two | At the top of a pile of dice, not far from where you started. |
Key Three | Inside a stack of sugar cubes, near the location of Key Two. |
Key Four | Tucked inside a pink cupcake. Use the royal shovel to dig it out. |
Once you’ve gathered all four cage keys, return to Alice and use them to unlock the cages. The freed critters waste no time causing a bit of delightful chaos, leaving both you and Alice amazed by the commotion. With the animals now free, you’ll immediately step into your next adventure: Leaving Wonderland.
