Shock and Awe Challenge Guide – Revenge Of The Savage Planet

Struggling with the Shock and Awe challenge in Revenge of the Savage Planet? This guide breaks down everything you need to know — from where to start, the required upgrades, and the perfect strategy spot — to help you fry five foes at once and unlock powerful gear like the Triple Thrusters!

How to Start the Shock and Awe Challenge

Slappi might not be the best at disguises, but he’s great at throwing challenges your way. Along with Shrines to test your skills, he also hands out mini-missions that push you to make the most of your newly regained gadgets. These tasks can range from super easy to head-scratching complex. One, in particular, stands out: the Shock and Awe challenge — it’s hilariously more complicated than the rest.

How Slappi’s Challenges Work

Every time Slappi gives you a set of challenges, they come in pairs — usually four total — and you need to complete all of them before moving on. Once you’re done, you unlock some seriously awesome upgrades. We’re not talking about minor stat boosts — these upgrades can completely change how you fight and move around.

What Makes the Shock and Awe Challenge So Tricky?

You’ll face the Shock and Awe challenge in the second set of Slappi’s trials. You must have the Water Hose upgraded to absorb Ferrous Goo before attempting it. The goal? Shock five enemies at once. Here’s the kicker: you can’t zap enemies directly. Instead, you need to lure them into Ferrous Goo and rely on electrified mushrooms to do the job. Since this setup only works in certain spots, it’s a bit more restrictive than the others.

Best Spot & Strategy for Success

You can try your luck on the Zenethian Rift, near the teleporter at the peaks. There’s a nice central spot with a Ferrous Goo source, plenty of enemies, and several electrified mushrooms. Start by slathering the whole area in Ferrous Goo — don’t hold back! Just keep refilling at the source and painting until you’ve covered a big patch. Once that’s done, link the goo to a mushroom and zap — all enemies standing in it will get fried.

Now, this may not work on your first try since enemies die instantly when shocked. But no worries — the game is pretty forgiving. If you miss the mark, just teleport to your base and return. The goo stays put, and the enemies will respawn. As long as you don’t leave the planet, your setup remains, letting you try again as many times as you need.

Unlocking the Next-Level Gear

Once you finish Shock and Awe along with the other challenges in that set, you’ll unlock some awesome new gear, including the Triple Thrusters and the Drone Glider — both of which open up totally new ways to explore and fight.
