Just like in Dawnshore and Emerald Stair, reaching Shatterscarp will unlock another quest to track down one of Sanza’s missing cartographer assistants. This time, it’s Wilfrith who has disappeared. According to Sanza, Wilfrith’s last letter suggests they were stationed near a secluded spire by the sea.
With Shatterscarp’s entire southern region bordering the ocean, searching for the cartographer can be challenging—especially if you haven’t yet cleared the fog of war in this rugged desert biome. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find Wilfrith in the Avowed side quest Mapping the Living Lands.
How to Locate Shatterscarp Cartographer in Avowed
Since Shatterscarp sits right on the ocean, there are plenty of potential locations that could match the description of a “spire by the sea.” The term spire is quite broad—it could refer to a man-made structure or a naturally formed rock formation.
Fortunately, you won’t have to travel far from Thirdborn to find the missing cartographer. Head east of Thirdborn, just above the large Shatterscarp text on your map. Continue past Sailor’s Rest until you reach a small island with a cylindrical boulder protruding from its top. Jump across the gap to reach the island and locate the missing cartographer.
The missing cartographer, Wilfrith, is found lying against the spire. You can loot their body for some valuable items and pick up Wilfrith’s Map, which is located just to their left. Once you have the map, this part of the quest is complete. Now, you can return to Sanza to deliver the unfortunate news about yet another lost cartographer.
Returning to Sanza
To complete the quest, you’ll need to return to Sanza’s Emporium in Paradis Hightowns, located in Dawnshore. Open your map, select The Living Lands at the top of the screen, and then choose the Dawnshore region. Once there, head to the Administration District of Paradis, ascend the grand staircase into Paradis Hightowns, and make your way to Sanza’s Emporium.
Speak with Sanza behind the counter to inform him of Wilfrith’s fate. After your conversation, you’ll have successfully completed another Mapping the Living Lands quest in Avowed.
